While on the topic of the pope & all, It's amazing to me that in this age of computers and smart phones and the internet etc etc. The only way the Vatican can communicate with the rest of the world is by sending smoke signals.
It just shows that these types are still living in the stone age.

The smoke signals, like the conclave itself, are quite ancient, and date back from the time when all Popes, by default, were Italian (and thus, local). The church is not about to abandon such romantic traditions. But right now, this very moment, as I write, there's some cardinals in there with smartphones who can't resist spilling some beans. And there will be some Facebook Friends who hear them.
But offcially, it'll be the white smoke that says who.

"The people" dont elect the Pope...The conclave does. As for the smoke its probably pot and if it isnt it should be, they might make better decisions
