I've heard so many attitudes from different types of people to on-line dating and older people - interested to hear the views of those who actually are on a dating site.

I'd like to think I bring some life experience Good/Bad to a relationship and my years [for me] mean I don't take myself too seriously and can laugh at myself. Ive also learnt to see the Red Flags [learnt through pain of course] I love good conversation, craic and again, feel that I have no right to change anyone.... these things are mainly found in the over 50 age group. Desparate ? Well if a woman or man hasnt learnt to live with themselves, if they feel that a perfect relationship is going to make them happy [Happpiness as you all know as coming from within] then its sad. I have 2 friends who are in their late 60s and they are actively and very adamant they are going to meet Mr.Right. I think this smacks of desparation which is not attractive.

Same as every other age group on a dating website - it actually makes more sense to me that someone does internet dating in their 50's than in their 20's.
I`am sorry ladys i need to be more clear on what i mean when i say all of the above!I don`t mean unattractive or easy or desperate.I ment most of the above!
Over 50 ... my favourite age group. I feel as though I have some shared experiences and historical-cultural background which makes women (and people in general) easier to relate to. Usually ladies of this age are more likely to know what they want (or at least what they don't want) from a relationship, and are less likely to accept anything less. They want Mr Right rather than Mr Not Quite Right. It would be an exceptional woman under 50 that would engage my whole being.

The same could be applied to the younger generations. Especially those in their late teens to early twenties.
It's really not a big deal, unless people make it so. It's just another method of seeking a partner, just not as desperate as bar hopping and chatting to anything that takes your fancy.
