unlaoised: If that's the case, why even mention her earning capacity?
I pay no attention to a woman's salary. That rule only applies at work for the sole purpose of not getting involved with anyone that is in a position under me.
t84rod: Better team environment, better execution of results, not to mention being motivated to go to work on a daily basis!
Sorry, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong! Far more reasons not to be involved with co-workers than not. Far, far more. I realize it may sound like a great idea, but in practice it has proven, in these times, anyway, to be detrimental. Not so good....
Now don't encourage him! (Perhaps this could be true in some isolated incidences, but , rarely. I strongly advise against it. It's kind of too bad, because I have worked with a number of really cool people, but the chance of a problem is just too great. People change their loyalties, spread rumours without conscience, etc...I was once seen by a co-worker leaving a Sports Bar around midnight, being due to work early the next day. Having a little fun a little late turned into vituperative gossip. It wasn't groovy. I survived it, however!

This is what comes to mind by hearing you... ... Also, who were you with at the bar? Some young intern? Were you "showing him the ropes"?

felixis99: yes, unfortunately for many, that seems to be the case
It's more unfortunate these days though with twitter and facebook tagging etc! What happens at office parties should stay at office parties. Or any other parties. Maybe they should ban picture taking at these parties. Phones in the cupboard, with exemption to use them for emergency calls where they can't sneak a pic of anyone! Take a few respectable, nice pics first just to mark the occasion then put the phones away.

I agree we really have not had photography etiquette catch up to the available technology. Why so people feel so entitled to just start snapping away with their phones. At least in the days of regular cameras others at least knew what was going on. I think what goes on now with cell cameras is not only childish but should an illegal invasion of privacy. (on a more somber note - sorry now back on topic )

Omg, I wasn't encouraging him, honey. It's a bad idea, a very very bad idea!

I am so happy to see you today--my friend from over the mountain range finally wrote again--(I may be celebrating Christmas in the Rockies this year--with a really nice person). I knew you weren't really saying that--I was being a little facetious --((not moi!!)) I am going to have to stop this particular thread, though, it is starting to make me want to fight fire with fire, and I avoid that. Love you to the moon, as usually!!
