Can happiness ever be found? (106)
Positive attracts positive, find happiness in yourself etc. are all wonderful sentiments and concepts to strive for, but they are all coping mechanisms to try and delude one's self into believing that one is happy and doesn't need love. The reality is that sometimes you are alone, sometimes you feel so lonely and abandoned that it hurts like all heck. There are no guarantees that love will ever find you. But we have to try and hold on to hope, that maybe, just maybe, love will appear in your life. Until then, do whatever you must to survive each day, one at a time.

I imagine a lot of people are exactly looking for that (I know I do) and it is hard to find someone compatible to get on with.
We all faced and will face rejection, it is never nice but it's all part of it.

Hi John, nothing like that, I just had some things going on in my life years ago which I didn't ask for. I changed a lot of things in my life and I'm happy with how things are now. I might be a smartass sometimes, but I never wish harm on anybody.

Ok. I sometimes think of it as an ability to not let anything offset your peace of mind. Be able to let things roll off you, like a duck's back. Something like that. It's not that Life won't give you lemons, it's that you learn to make lemonade. Few often either don't have to accept something, or we can learn to turn it into a good thing for us. acceptance plays a huge part.
acceptance doesn't mean continuing to go along with something that makes you unhappy. acceptance is awareness, and then one makes choices.
but i think you are right, it's about finding our own abilities to have peace of mind.
