I am just curious how many men, actually go on a first date with someone, and at the end of the date, set up another date and then don't show up or even send a email or call to cancel? Of course it happened to me, But I am not that upset by it, It just made me think, and got me curious as to how many men do this and maybe someone can shed some light on to me as to why, men do this? I just figure, consider the source, but their has to be more to it, Smiles....Are you Guys just shy? or afraid of hurting our feeling? What Gives??

I had a 2nd date lined up once, the first was awful but I didn't want to be rude so I pretended I had to go home for my son(had my mom call me so I could bail). He wanted to see me again and at the time I just agreed because I didn't want to say "No, you're a loser" soooooo day came I just ignored him. Then he blocked me on MSN. Worked for me.

I want this to be light hearted PLEASE......
It is very rude to set up a date an not contact you to cancel. It is also cowardly, not shyness.
You are better off without such men (unless there was a dire emergency where he could not contact you, which I would think is rare).

Hey i thought it was only us fellas who have the IF YOU HAVENT HEARD FROM ME BY 30 MINS INTO THE DATE RING AND PRETEND SOMETHINGS UP
Men (KNOW) what they want (WHEN) they want it.... We don't change our minds... If we tell the woman, that we would like to set another date, then it means we want another date....period
We decide whether or not we want another date, long before the first date is over.. we weigh the good and/or the bad and know our anwser...
With this said, there are some guys out there, that are indecisive, but not many..
Unless, this is a BIG unless...
The first date involved "ALCOHOL" then this is where most of one night stands come from, and you can't beleive that the guy will follow through on another date....
Because sometimes looks are in the hand of the "BEER HOLDER"

Oooo.... could be its looking good for me then??!! Second date on Tuesday...... poor sod!!!!
When a man forgets to call and excuse himself, it turns me off. I can understand if it happens once, or twice, but i cannot accomodate a trend.
I cannot handle a primitive man, who doesn't know how to do these little things. He needs to go back to mummy, because i don't know how to raise a grown up man.
Reminds me one who left me at his mum's place, still sleeping. I was probably 20, then. Now, how in the world was i supposed to leave his room without his mother seeing me? I don't know why he did this, but he probably thought i'd sleep till he got back. Anyway, one of his sisters came to his room, said hi and minutes later, brought a huge glass of home made juice. She said her mom asked her to bring it in and see if i was hungry.
Guess who paid for my cab home? The mom! She even came to the car, to see if i was okay or needed anything else.
I learnt my lesson: Meet the mom first, before you start sneaking in!
God, the number of times i crept into a boyfriend's room after a night out!
Situation has never arisen. If I make plans for a second date, its because I want to see her again so I go. If I don't want to see her again, I don't ask. If something unexpected came up, I would definitly call, apologize, and try to change the day.
I really appreciate all your comments and help with this, and there was only one beer and one drink for me involved, So I was really just curious? He has not even tried to contact me to make an excuse or anything? that is the funny or should I say cowardly part? I understand that not every one has a connection, but I thought with enough people writing about not playing games, that this one just puzzled me, . At Least I have been given some insight by you great people... Thanks to all of you...

The proper thing to do would be to call. I think any human being deserves honesty. I would definitely tell them nicely and be clear that I do not want to see them anymore. I would much rather end the "relationship" on a positive note rather than to ignore the person.
Without cancelling the first date or calling to cancel, you should be present for the first date and talk about if you want to have any other visit or not. This a friendship rule dudes!
