Men actually gossip more where I stay and what they do not know about anyone in the area is not worth knowing..

I think everybody has a valid point in this thread.
I guess I do gossip, but it's more with men and about other men/friends...like today I was discussing with Marcus if our friend Andreas just likes to lie for the hell of it...then we started coming up with theories why Andreas really lost his job.
Andreas is a compulsive liar btw...

I think most everyone gossips equally, it's just that the guys won't admit it in mixed company 
. I worked at a place where I was the only woman with 23 guys... they knew everything about any single, available woman (and otherwise) within a 30 mile radius and spent a lot of time discussing them

In RL in my town, the men all congregate in someones yard, pretend to be working on a truck and talk about everyone in town, even if they don't know the ones they're talking about.
I think the women do that on the phone, since they are hardly ever seen in daylight.
