well if I choose the woman stays and the dog goes ....I would find a really good home for the pet.......I would not do that for a woman so it seems to me that it is two differant things altogether.....Daisy Our dog)is 10 years old and if someone wanted me to rid her just because....then no I would not.....if it was for health reasons of the woman, then yes but as I said she(Daisy) would go to a very good home...

Well I agree with jeeps for I played 2nd fiddle to a dog and was no joke, sorry lady but you animals are beyond my realm of comprehension.Well I stopped seeing a guy as he was allergic to my cats, it was to early to know if we had a future but to be honest only my children come before my pets.

I've seen this before. Choosing to focus on pets because of being hurt by or having bad luck in relationships. It's not a good reason to love animals. They should be loved and respected for their own merits, not as compensation for feeling alienated from human beings or as surrogate human beings.

I am looking for lover, someone talk to, confide, build a life with and pet just doesn't cut it. I would not endanger my partner's health for the sake of any pet but that is just my opinion. We all need to decide what is important to us.
A dog is not more intelligent, but it follows his instinct that you are his leader (the A in the pack). Imho people loving pets should search for same and vice versa, because otherwise it runs into problems when one has to compromise on this issue.

Some pets have been known to turn on their 'owners' and kill them. So your example is full of faults.
