HotrodLarrys: I dont care the reprocussions, as I have been thru the Dog in the house bit Chew Furnitchure, Piss in the Carpet, Fleas juming on me when I am in MY BED, Dog Hait on everything including MY CLOTHES,. and spraying for Fleas and Ticks, and Then Spraying for Hatching Eggs, Dogs Carry Lice ect, NOT ME>>>Different strokes for different Folkes, But I have BEEN THERE and done it!!!!!!!! Nothing is worst than going in someones house, Dressed Nice, and walking out full of DOG OR CAT Hair
And Yes, If Needed I would get rid of My Dog, For The right Woman if nesasary:
I relate to this..
its terrible and happen to us..
Eating at these people houses and hair in the food and on ur clothing..
Been there, done that, ditched the cat, married the guy, bad mistake.
If your date insists you get rid of your sofa, jacket, hairstyle, etc, that's called a RED FLAG. Something is wrong here. They are a control freak, abuser or something.
Besides, if I got rid of my old dog (who can say hello), she would end up euthanized. There wouldn't be any fantasy farm in the country, she's old and scruffy. I would be killing her.
MavRik: Lets assume your lover can't be in the same Home as your dog or his health will deteriorate...
Please be honest, I Just really need to know, Thanks
Well, I know how loyal dogs are, which is why I love them so much. So, the woman I'm with would have to be more loyal than your average dog for me to give the dog up... Besides, the one I'm with would love dogs as much as I do!
scousedon: I think kids and dogs are a different kettle of fish.
How's that? I've had friends of mine who were dead serious and tell me that they would get rid of their husbands before their dogs or kids so I disagree with you on that.
Then I've had people say that they would give up their kids and Dogs and keep their mates. I was volunteered at several schools in my area and heard this being said.

I agree if someone has to give up their dog..there is something wrong. When there is a connection between two people I really doubt if anything can get in the way.
But if your not willing to compromise...like letting the dog watch...then..I think...the something wrong is on the other side..if you get my drift!!

Exactly..If on a first date it became apparent that the guy didn't like dogs..then there wouldn't be a second so no chance of falling in love with em is there!
kissmedeeply: What about ur partner is allergic to animals..
Which i am..
I have no animals..either did Eric..
So it worked out fine..
Alex(my son) wants a dog..
Who knows..
But there are very good reason why others cant be with animals
I'm allergic to real animal hair but I learned to deal with it.I didn't expect my late husband to get rid of his dog.I wouldn't had been that mean to him.Besides he had a Shih-tuz which are good to have especially in regards to someone being allergic.

The original question posed was about a REAL health issue not a like or dislike of dogs, but I think a compromise could be made if it were about health grounds.

Very true, but I don't see why a topic can not be further expanded to include other situations as long as it's still within the main topic.

It certainly is heart breaking. well, considering health i can choose to keep my doggy in the balcony and the other room where my guy needn't have to access and i really don' think his health would be affected while the doggy be well maintained and vaccinated.
Poor doggies, why are men so jealous of them. they are the cutest pets filled with love ever................ Doggy matters. It's not just a dog, it's a cute pet.

I just wanted to clarify I like dogs but if people have opinions they want to express I welcome them. If the question was do you like dogs I would answer yes. If the question was would you give up a sick man/woman for a dog the answer is no.

I think it would matter people that have allergy to animnals having ur pet well maintained and vaccinated dont matter...
that person still can get very sick and die...
I quess you would have to be in that situation to really know..
