lol who's arguing? I was just curious
and by the way my dogs don't wipe their bums on the rugs and they don't have fleas either
Yes I have dog hairs on me at times...
I can't think of any restaurant that has dead animals hanging on the walls, not seen any in the many countries Ive visited... maybe you meant in the states rather than the World

I agree also with him..
We all have our opinions..

Hi I think to some people a dog is an animal and to others more like a member of the family..I wouldn't put my family outside..well on 2nd thoughts maybe the kids sometimes

Yes i agree some do think they are part of the family..
I am just saying if my partner had an issue about an animal..well thats if i had any..i would certainly do what i could to make him feel comfortable..
and if i had to get rid of them..then i would do it

Thats true! I don't see mine as animals at all. They are a hugely important part of my family. Some do see them as just animals.. I guess it wouldn't be a match made in heaven would it lol
There are a few in my family I'd stuff in the kennel and give my dogs their bed

though I do agree with you about the dog hairs..I used to have 2 retrievers and they were a nightmare..now I've got short haired dogs it makes life a lot easier

I see mine more as short hairy children with a speech problem ..and they don't answer me back like the kids do!

i raised my dog since birth i've had him with me now 14 years, his time is about over and i just couldn't give him away or put him down, but i would respect her and ask to slow the relationship down until he passed, not wanting to give up either one

agree with you, to me a dog is for life, not just to be thrown out the door as a useless bit of garbage whenever it suits me, they are there for me always, neither do they have ticks, fleas or lice, and anyones who do are not cared for correctly.
I am not in a relationship at this time with anyone except my two fantastic pets. They have been part of my life and are part of my family now for 11 years. There is no way I could ever part with them. Emotionally I depend on them and they love me unconditionally; however, on their on terms!
If it came to a decision today, 'she' would have to be the one to go. Later if the issue arose I would solve the problem without losing either one. Luckily I have a guest house and the pet would live in it.

i don't cry easily but when his dad died i cried and when i had thought i had to put him down it broke my heart, i had my daughter take him to the vet to have it done because he was so bad, but she brought him home as the vet said he would recover, that was a happy day in my life, that was over a year ago. i said my goodbyes and had to go in the other room as i didn't want anyone to see me cry

I know all to well from where you speak cas.I raised 3 of my 4 legged kids from birth too and it almost killed me when the time came for me to do that dirty deed.No matter what anything else thinks they were my family.I wouldn't ever dream of asking/nor expecting a man who may enter my life someday to give up any of his pets.
If it was because of a health issue I would slow down that relationship or totally end it with him.
I have two dogs who live inside of my home...and I don't sleep in any of that either. I have never had fleas or lice on my dogs, so they're not in my house either. And indoor dogs don't mean they sleep on the bed. They have their own beds at the foot of mine.
I do take them for car rides whenever the opportunity presents itself. We all love it. And I allow them on the livingroom furniture.

MavRik: Lets assume your lover can't be in the same Home as your dog or his health will deteriorate...
Please be honest, I Just really need to know, Thanks
Im not gonna vote on this one because its very subjective - it depends on both the lover and the dog in my book, if I didnt really like or wasn't attached to the dog and I was to the lover then sure, and vice versa. Probably Id just live seperately though and keep my dog in my home and the lover in his...but thats just a preference for having my own space...if you wanna live together then I guess its a problem

i wonder if jeolousy is a health issue, (mental) that should be considered in answer to the origanal question by poster. i cannot understand how someone can be jealous of dogs in the other persons life. people do not have the exact same feelings for their dogs as they do for people, so attention given to one, should not take away from the other. it seems that this is difficult for the person not having the dogs to understand. again, i would have to say that the dogs would win out, especially if i had them prior to a relationship.
if already in a relationship, then the matter of obtaining a pet, would and should be discussed with the other person. totally different situation.
Well, I think it depends on the status of "lover." If that means your girlfriend that you've known for a few months and with whom you have no planned/committed future, then no.
If it means someone you possibly may spend the rest of your life with - then your lover would be your highest value, and the answer is obvious.

i don't know about dog though, but if the lady has a good looking cat like me(a cat who can hold breath also), she should give up her relationship for me.
