RDM59: What if he comes with a bible and a cat !!
You are killing me here! I can't see thru the tears from laughing so hard!!!
I can not remember the last time I have laughed so uncontrolably hard. I've lost it!!!
Hang on, let me regain my composure.
Well, I married a man once who had a bible in his truck, so what the heck The cat's not a problem at all. I love cats! My dog loves cats. I have a cat too.
I guess that it would be like Our house, is a very very very fine house, with 2 cats in the yard. Life used to be so hard. Now everything is easy cos of you. I'll light the fire while you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today...
HealthyLiving: Ah Ruby, too bad you struck out this time.
I have had my little dog for almost 12 years. She was in the passenger seat truckin with me for 11 of those years. We have a bond. If I leave the house, she will not eat or drink until I return. She is the best dog in the whole wide world and I tell her that every day. I love her and she loves me. If I cry tears, she licks them from my cheeks.
Sorry, I will never give up my dog for a man, even a good man.
But that's just it, a real good man, would understand that and would never make you give up your dog!!

HealthyLiving: Ah, a real good man you say, Rube? Now tell me... will this real good man allow my dog to sleep in the bed with us? Cos she has always slept there.
I cant believe what I have read in this thread, I love dogs, always have but cannot get my head around the concept of a dog being more important than a human, a dogs life is short and people move on quickly from this, a dog can share few aspects of your life. A man or woman can share so much more and in many spheres of life. To even view a dog as more important than a human is verging on an unhealthy obsession. This is life, a dog is a pet a human is something a lot more personal. Maybe people should step back and see the wood for the trees as to why they are alone. These forums give me a great insight into single women.

It's the ones with the cats and the pointed black hats that you really need to worry about ..... ....
illu_66: Leave Morgan out of this - she's my mate!!!
you mean Morgana, one of the evilest ever !!!!
Yeh, she is too good to be true that one, it must be a spell that she casts over us blokes, a smoke screen form her couldron.
Gotta watch out for the shrewd ones that don't give much away. I have a suspicion she is in the Masons, notice how she always wears orange ....... ( tap nose emote ) ........

It is not a concept of the dog being more important than a human. Humans are more important than animals.
The concept here is that I am content here with just me and my dog. I am not co-dependant. I do not need to have another person here to make me who I am. I am comfortable being alone with the dog for company.
I have not been on a date in over 9 years. I am content. My dog is here so that I am not lonely. We share lots of things together. She is fun and she never complains. I don't have to pick up after her or do her laundry. She doesn't argue with me or treat me badly. She prays!
Sure, I would like a companion to do things with, share life's opportunities with, but with my OCD, he can't come strolling in here and mess up my world. Perhaps I am difficult? Perhaps there is no match for me? I won't settle for just any man. He's a rare breed and hard to find.
I've been around enough to know what I don't want. If I must live out the rest of my days without humans, I shall. I am extremely picky, you must understand. My dog can deal with me. You may not be able to.

I accept what you say, and also respect it but relationships to be succesful must be two way traffic and compromises met. Fortunately I have met someone on here that has dogs and I like dogs so no problem there but things could have been different and I would have expected some kind of compromise if my health was at risk, once again I respect your stance.

Hey, it's cool.
If someone I just met wanted me to give up my dog whom I've had for almost 12 years, who's been with me 24/7 by my side, it would just be wrong. I could not do that to her. My dog goes into deep depression if I am gone. She wouldn't make it with out me.
Now the cat, that's a different story. It lives outside. I would give it away in a heartbeat. It's all black and a sweet cat. The cat and I do not have a bond like me and the dog. I have only had the cat for just over a year and it's always outside.
To give away the dog would be like giving away one of my kids.
Thanks for understanding. I've got to get to sleep now.

I have already been in the position of making the choice. And the dogs won out. I had my dogs first, and if someone does not like them, that is their choice. Mine is to discontinue the relationship. You don't give away your children, and to alot of pet lovers, dogs are members of the family as well. The only concession i would be willing to make is that the arrangements in the way the dogs live in my household would change. But, i would know this before anything ever got to the point of necessity in having to make a decision anyhow.

man.( anagram of dog ) .....
Yes, that too!
So the man would have to accept me, my God and my dog,
or no deal.
