At Jerez last year to watch the moto grand prix, met and spoke to valentino rossi, dani pedrosa and james toesland. They were all very polite and new how important the fans were to the sport.

Definitely DOES count!I don't just meet famous people. I have them as friends.. Rocks stars, as well as others, but it's crass to 'name-drop' & I respect their privacy even tho I have their PRIVATE addresses, cell- numbers, & email addys.

I have met a few, but one that really stuck out was Sinbad. I was in the movies with a friend that ran the place and he was in there with some friends. I didn't even know who it was when i fussed at him to be quiet so I could watch the movie
He ended up sitting there for a little while talking to me and my friend. Really great guy

I've met Valentino before when I was working with the CMRA. He's quite the joker lol

By far the best was Paul and the rest of the Boys from The Real McKenzies. Nice fun guys. They crashed at my place after a show when their hotel reservation fell through. Even cleaned up after themselves. Had a blast

me and my brother talked to johnny lee and asked him for his autograph, he said i have you have to have your parents with you, we said our parents are right over there, he said they have to come over here. we went and told moma nd dad , dad said screw him then. so we left. oh and i was at a wrestling show, the von ericks were there, i idn't actually meet them i tacckled kerry and lance as they were going into the ring. oh and i almost got to high five dale earnhart jr at a nascar race. but some guy sttod in our way right when we almost touched hands . and the guy said oh i'm sorry then laughed at me, i called a f'in jerk. 
ug i must be tired , i am missing letters and messing up bad typing. 
I did volunteer work at a political gathering and met Michael Bolton, Chrystal Gayle, Amy Grant, Ronnie Spector--I can't remember the whole line up of people, but we hung out back stage with all of these people and more, it was a lot of fun. Chrystal Gale was so kind and petite, tiny feet, and long hair.

Yes,,i meet Rod Stewart At Issy Miyake shop in Thailand,,And i meet Katie Price and Peter Andre When i was on Holiday in Brighton,UK.I suppose meeting Paul McCartney and his family in Campbelltown in the 70's counts. Also met some of the Royal family

I met sailor bob and he was basically like any other human that i have ever met. I also met his compatriot and it was years after the show was removed from tv and he was suffering from old age. I more recently have met some retired sports figures and they seem rather grounded, the coaches and up and coming sport heroes seem a bit out of touch. I have met a few band members, oddly one told me
"I dont listen to that crap , i just play it in a band". I more recently met a local anchor man for the news , rick young, he was aragant as hadies.

I also met the lead singer to Firehouse, i didnt know who he was but he had long curly hair and i said to him
"thats the longest hair ive seen since the hair bands of the eightys" he replied that he is in a hair band. He seemed rather down to earth and nice.

having been a musician for many years, and was noted as being a 'pick up musician' i recieved calls all the time to fill in for a gig; rock, country, blues, even jazz. shared the stage with so many.
even before that i worked for a television studio as security, and met many stars coming in for a talk show we filmed.
but the most unexpected was 1983 in calgary alberta canada, was waiting for the elevator. and when the doors opened superman was standing there ! they were filming superman 3 !
