imsophie1: I've tried the nicotine ingestion products before. They didn't work. I think the electronic cigarettes will satisfy not only the nicotine addiction, but also the physical act of smoking. I have found in previous efforts to quit that I didn't have a major problem with going cold turkey, except for the lack of that physical act of lighting up and smoking. My hands seemed to be searching for something to do.
I have been smoking since I was 13, and wish I could stop.....but tobacco has got a hold on me. Oh yeah, and I am a very proud smoker of WEED!!! I love weed i love it

HJFinAZ: Some day, many will find themselves laying in a hospital bed dying from absolutely nothing..
Everyone is going to die some day; however, I have seen two die horrible, slow and painful death from lung cancer. It ain't pretty. It isn't nice. It isn't fast. I doesn't just impact them, but everyone who loves them also.
Congratulations to you and all who have been able to quit. Sadly, from what I've seen, it remains a temptation for the rest of one's life. I keep telling my sons to never start, and I hope they listen to me. (They do seem to be a bit smarter than their mother, so they just might listen. )

YOU ARE RIGHT! BUT My mother never smoked. She had throat cancer at the age of 40. My father did smoke a pipe, once in a while. He died aged 44. My best friend never smoked. She died from lung cancer at 52.

Individual examples doesn't change the fact that smoking causes lung cancer and those people who get it die a horrible death.

I have seen the aftermath of a man that put a 9mm to his head and pulled the trigger. That was not pretty either.
yes......tried a half hearted attempt to quit when I turned 50...but what the hell i enjoy smoking and was not ready to give it up .....neither then or now
was once adddicted to them and most likely still am, however it has been several months now and am doing well without. Jellybeans have been a great substitute, although it's sometimes tough to find them in the stores. Have been reduced on a couple of occasions to going out at night and buying them on a dark streetcorners at inflated prices from unsavory characters in filthy clothing
