I have no idea what you mean by yes and no in this instance, but from my knowledge of the tea-party, they are just a very reactionary group who espouse a completely neo-liberal economic philosophy. I have no time for them whatsoever.

Gee John....I did not see a burning cross at the Beck's Restore Honor rally in Washington. But with 300,000 in attendance, I might have missed something.

Beck ask them not bring signs. They did not bring signs.

Even Rev Sharpton said that his MLK and Beck function were both peaceful.

Though President Obama did say....after hearing that there were 300,000 there....

"I can understand how Glenn Beck can stir a group of 300,000 into meeting for a rally.'

What's the matter blain, afraid you might not get the results you were looking for so you hedge your bet by putting "stuck on higher Taxes" after the American NO vote?

That's true. The best analogy today is these people can be compared to "Soccer Hooligans". The orig Tea Party story is a case of revisionist history.

"Governor Hutchinson refused to grant permission for the Dartmouth to leave without paying the duty. Two more tea ships, the Eleanor and the Beaver, arrived in Boston Harbor. On December 16, 1773—the last day of the Dartmouth's deadline—about 7,000 people had gathered around the Old South Meeting House. After receiving a report that Governor Hutchinson had again refused to let the ships leave, Adams announced that "This meeting can do nothing further to save the country." According to a popular story, Adams's statement was a prearranged signal for the "tea party" to begin. However, this claim did not appear in print until nearly a century after the event, in a biography of Adams written by his great-grandson, who apparently misinterpreted the evidence.[56] According to eyewitness accounts, people did not leave the meeting until ten or fifteen minutes after Adams's alleged "signal", and Adams in fact tried to stop people from leaving because the meeting was not yet over.

Destruction of the tea

While Samuel Adams tried to reassert control of the meeting, people poured out of the Old South Meeting House and headed to Boston Harbor. That evening, a group of 30 to 130 men, some of them thinly disguised as Mohawk Indians, boarded the three vessels and, over the course of three hours, dumped all 342 chests of tea into the water.
So conrad, these are the people and acts you would support? Mob rule?

Well since it's true, maybe you should re-think YOUR position?

"Right on the heels of a poll giving the Republicans a 10-point edge on this year's "generic" congressional ballot, a USA Today/Gallup poll says that Americans believe Republicans on Capitol Hill would do a better job on seven of nine key election issues.

The issues on which Republicans enjoy their biggest margins are on terrorism, immigration, federal spending and the economy, according to the poll conducted Aug. 27-30. The Democrats prevail only on health care (and that's by a statistically insignificant difference) and the environment (the margin of error for this poll is 4 points)."
