Hell no i would never get rid of my dog.
Lets all perform a simple test.
Get your dog and your lover and lock them both in the boot of your car and leave them there for a few hours. Now after you open the boot, which one will be happy to see you?
Nov 15, 2010 4:01 PM CST would you 'sacrifice' your pet for your lover?

lion131: if you had a much loved pet/pets,and you had met somebody, and it was getting serious between you, what would you do if your lover/partner objected strongly to the pet,and issued you with an ultimatum?you know what i mean..."the animal goes or i do!"what would you do?
Depends on why, if she was majorly allergic i'd get rid of the pet.
If I fail at love amongst my own species, then maybe one day i'll fall back on love from the less judgemental world of animals, but for now I feel human beings are the more important of the two.

They both better be glad to see me, or me and the dog will be riding in the front on the way home and someone will still be in the boot

Hello, good question to post .. One ultimation usually leads to another and every time you give in they will want more.I would give them the flick not unless you want someone to control your life .. cheers

Experience has taught me that relationships seem to have a limited lifespan.... my ponies will be around for the next 15 years, and so too my cats.... sorry but the pets win ..
i do not now why your even debating it your pets have been with you all along giving you love of another kind your lover is exactly that a lover he or she is with you only a short time tell him or her to take a hike and find some one that lives with nature you will be happier in the long run if some one gave me that kind of ultimatum i would say chow be gone with you ok that person is just not worth it ok
robsantiago15: Kids are okay, pets are not. I'm not a big fan of pets. I don't like how certain pets smell.
hey there robsantiago
when it comes to the pooch, ever heard of the allergy free breeds??
Bichon Frise, Poodles (3 sizes if you don't like small dogs), Schnauzers (also come in 3 sizes), Basenjis, Airedale Terriers, Lagottos... just to name a few... there r many more of these breeds available and are not the type that would have a typical dog smell either so if you ever wanted to be around them, you would be fine unless you r just not into animals period I guess ...
smells and allergies don't have to be an issue... JMO of course and thought you'd be interested in some facts
I am allergic, do not like how some of them smell and was also attacked by a dog some years back but would not ask anyone to sacrifice their pet........... I would just say bye bye and leave them to it............!
Unless of course they lived outside in a kennel, hut, pond, tree or whatever their natural habitat is.........
