trish123: I heard a really funny thing the other day, the Jehovahs Witnesses are getting upset that Atheists are no longer keeping our opinions to ourselves
What if god was one of us Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Trying to make his way home Just trying to make his way home Like a holy rolling stone Back up to heaven all alone Just trying to make his way home Nobody calling on the phone Except for the pope maybe in rome

johnaustin123: The Creation: Science v Religion
Lol, i like all documentaries when religion tries to debate science ....seems ironic that religion chooses to use things such as cameras, computers, microphones, the internet etc..all of which were created through scientific discovery.... im yet to see anything like that created through creationist discovery *if it exists...*
after all, Science can fly you to the moon.... Religion can fly you into buildings.
carlosweb10: Most people feel that they need a change in their lives and in the world as well. For them both are not separated issues because we live in the same world.
So what about the ideas, beliefs, and outlook for a world change?
Let's count who many man died in the name of God and then subtract the number of man killed in the name of God. If the number is positive the God means Good If the number is negative then God means evil.
Yes brothers and sisters,yes....Religion can save the world the dawn of a new religion has started

God is cruel.he let's me drink the fluids where fish piss in.
Religion has been the cause of more war, horror and inhumanity to man than any other force in human history. If anything it hold us back in our evolution as the human race. Im always astounded that humans can take the most sacred part of themselves and use it as an excuse to commit atrocities to others. Weve ALL been given this incredible gift of life on Earth and yet so many choose to arrogantly waste it in the pursuit of religion. What will save this planet and consequently the people living on it, is the Fall of organized religion. Thank goodness we have finally entered that age.

Raynew1959: We don't need religion. Take a good look at the history of this world and you'll see how many atrocities have been committed in "Gods" name. The Crusades, the Inquisition and 9/11 are several examples.
I agree but don't believe that religion is the force that caused the violence but rather a tool for those who were predisposed to cause it anyhow for their own purposes.
Every conflict in history has been over something else rather than religion - even the Muslim conquest of India with it's 80 million deaths was not about Islam but rather about territory with the pretext of expanding the Muslim world for political and social reasons of that being an effective way to run things.
The Greeks and Romans, while religious, did not carry out conquests for religious reasons but rather for economic and similarly, prior to civilization, tribal warfare was for gain of land, hunting grounds and the elimination of enemies even though they worshiped the same deities. In short, few wars are over religion.
That said, most wars were led by leaders well steeped in religion be they at the forefront or in the hierarchy of the leaders and, religion was pulled up and out to the head of the campaigns as a way to lend credence to the spoils of war which would not be seen by those sacrificing their lives to win.
In short, it won't save anything nor will it destroy. It's just window dressing.

religion and religiosity never changed anything for the better
and faith was never meant to save the world
its always curious to me when relious people with the christian persuasion mention things like saving the world
i mean thats not scripturally accurate or ever mentioned as a goal anywhere in the book
so no
my answer is that 'religion' can not, should not, will not, nor desires to-- save the world

Alberta, I'm quite amused by those that cite the Crusades as a religious war. Sure enough, Pope Urban called for the liberation of the Holy Lands lost to the Caliphs, Emirs and Sultans of Islam after 622 A.D. However, those who took up the sword were men eager for loot, land, wealth and prestige. The atrocities inflicted upon Christian as well as Muslim are testament enough to the real motivations.
