Woah buddy. I appreciate a good argument, no doubt. But that is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard. You are really going to argue atheists have a better quality of life than Catholics simply because we go to church and you do not? You just showed MASSIVE arrogance and stupidity. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to stereotype one group of people below yours because of what they believe is completely uncalled for. And for that, we can now say religion turned you into an oppressive individual who thinks his beliefs are more accurate than ours, much like... religious people who try to prove their religion is more accurate than theirs? whoops... embarrass you. Your line of thinking and belief that Catholics and anyone that believes in a higher power is ignorant and apparently poor as hell, makes you equal to every person that belongs to a religious faction that is bias against another one.
Religion, yes, can be corrupt and blood may boil over the issue and certain beliefs. That is no reason to say religion is evil. Religion is to believe in a pure and sacred higher power. It is not God or Allah who makes war, it is human that corrupts religion no matter if you believe in God, Allah, or the Great Pumpkin. Most of our societal values and norms come from religious teaching (dont kill, cheat, steal, etc...) and through that, people have lead amazing lives that benefited others. If you say you are religious and then go against the moral teachings of your religion, that is when it becomes corrupt.
