Is this purely a homegrown revolution or one inspired from the outside?
I mean if this is a democratic revolution as the street protestor are claiming....it seems to me that GWB take down of Sadam Hussien in Iraq in Iraqi Freedom....should be given some credit. But also Presdeint Obama who did not have Hosni Mubarak on the stage with him during the Cairo address. That President Obama has left troops in Iraq and Afghanistan again outside influenced to a democratic movements.
Then you have the Muslim Brotherhood, return of Foreign Fighters and Hamas coming into the country. Their influence is surely to take this to Sharia Law and less freedom for Egyptians. And Iran? Anyone wish to say Iran has not had a hand here?
That Hosni Mubarak has said he will not seek re-election is one small victory for the protestors. Also that the Egyptian military is not mowing down street protestor....as was done in China years ago in Tiammennen Square. Another victory.
Maybe we are having more civilized revolutions in this century....
ttom500: One thing we have to ask here regarding Egypt.

Just some thoughts.....
How do you have a civilized revolution TT.....could it be that revolutionaries are just becoming more adept at what they do???
Assuming a new Egyptian government emerges from this civilized revolution....When does the US recognizes the new gov't?
Before a election? After?
Before reparation to the 52,000 Americans that have lost house, business, vehicles and broken tourist vacations.
We are talking millions of Dollars here. I listened to a American billionaire that has 20 hotels in Egypt....all are closed. He was losing millions daily.
Should President Obama wink wink at the financial loses of Americans to the Egyptian street protest? Make a fast recognition of any government that emerges? Or slow the process down to wait till these issue are resolved? Personally, I am for the later here.
It is not like Europeans do not have a horse in this race. Many have some loses coming in this. There are a lots of Europeans leaving the country presently. Are European leaders going to wink wink? Or only recognize after some requirements have been met?
One might consider how Khomenie's Iran was recognized after his revolution for some guidance here.
If Hosni M....can be brought down with a twit.....hey it can happen literally anyplace in world today.....then a new day in civilized revolution has come. Or untill the first rock has been thrown.

Maybe some of you should quit whining and stand behind him to make this country a little better
In the same way John Deere stands behind it's manure spreaders?
