If they suvived long enough to have this superior technology, then it stands to reason that they would have advanced further in other ways . Our developement of modern technologys first became a new means to wipe us out . it almost succeeded . Only afterward did we ( the most technacly advanced ) beguin to realise that this was a dead end . Even today only backward nations threten us with extinction . Perhaps the advanced alien civalazations got past these times and moved on . Also if they could do harm to us why haven't they done so . . . .

And your vid sums it up with plenty of imagery - especially my favourite clip of the moving dot outside Earth`s atmosphere that gets shot at by what seems like a laser beam (around 8:05), but changes direction and accelerates to a very high speed to avoid being hit. There was a mainstream media article, maybe last year, IIRC, where the military admits to shooting down one of their own drones with a laser cannon, as part of a successful test.

About exopolitic, which is a real concern for militarian world organisations, we have to only think about what is our behavior towards primitive tribes (one has been recently found in south America): do we choose to interfere, or do we let them be ? This would be the same from extraterrestrial people toward us, primitive civilisation of "killers themselves".

Your first para is spot on, that is exactly why we have to learn how to live within a Resource Based Economy - namely to stop waste and to make things that won`t break when the guarantee runs out. Assuming a "lack of Alien contact" is like assuming that the Earth is flat and the Sun rises out of the Sea and drops back into it at the end of the day. It may look like it from a boat or the beach, but science tells us otherwise - and now we can even see Earth from space, which was believed to be impossible before we actually did it.

LOL, not just French people, but a lot of people in general. It is called "fear of the unknown". Reality is often different than what we imagine, so fearing it is quite irrational.

Thanks for that info, ff, I`ll look it up - although I believe the old political/military/monetary structures had their day. Recent years` financial events are signs of it. We really need different sets of guidelines to deal with exopolitics as well as our own. Especially our own - it will make the other easier.

As for indigenuous tribes - they are on this planet and have the same rights as everybody else. My own take is that we should leave them alone instead of encroaching into their habitats. If we don`t appear nasty to them, they might come out of their own accord, and then we can learn from them, and allow them to learn from us too, in their own time. But first we have to learn how to be proper inhabitants of planet Earth ourselves.

Reverse engineering is like cheating, and what M$ did with CP/M to come up with M$-DOS, and later the same with OS/2, MacOS and Amiga to come up with Windows - not what evolved minds would do. But all cause to greed and exploitation can easily be nipped in the bud, IMO necessary before we can shake hands with Galactic Ambassadors.
