A....zookoo....not played often....but when it is....a ...most wonderful sound......oh nearly forgot,,,,,a zookoo...is the strings..on a elephants..as ...you play it with your tongue....
- Tony Levin (of King Crimson and Peter Gabriel fame) - Guillermo Cides - Bob Culbertson - Greg Howard - The Heartstrings duo - Ron Baggerman - Irene Orleansky - Virginia Splendore - Jan Laurenz - Emmett Chapman (the guy who invented and still builds the instrument)
Search for them on Youtube... Unluckily I am on a hurry and cannot post links... You will hear that every player has its own style and way of playing it, so for sure you will find one that suits your taste precisely :)
My favourites are Tony Levin, Guillermo Cides, Rob Martino and Jan Laurenz (who happens to be as well the guy that sold me my first Stick three years ago and lives near me :)

it's a song from the dutch movie Turks Fruit (turkish fruit) that played in the early 70's...
with Rutger Hauer, before he went to America.
this sort of music makes me think of Amsterdam, the relaxed way of life we had in the 70's. everything was possible then.
ow....how nostalgic....
toots is old now....almost 95 or so....but he still performs on the North Sea Jazz....and he has performed with the greatest artists..
