theposition: Some do some dont, a lot of women are looking for the "bad boy". And the ones looking for the "nice guy" tend to run when they find him. I'm not saying all women are like that, but a majority of ones i've met are.
SUNSHINEB0Y: I tried that, she was lovely.....but she died the best laid plans of mice and men huh?
ok but that is life right? none of us have a guarantee we will outlive someone we fell in love with..my cousin craig died at the age of only 32 by a drunk driver..He was far from old and it was unexpected.

daisy333: I think nice guys (and nice girls, for that matter) get a lot of bad press when it comes to dating potential.
Nice is always awesome, but it's like a sense of humour, bravery or confidence - all appealing traits, but none of them are enough in isolation to create that 'click'.
It's always the total package that appeals, not just one facet of someone's personality.
We are all far more complex people than the descriptor of 'nice' allows. Often, that's all someone will see at first. I think this is why some guys complain of being renegated to the 'friend' camp - they're not too nice to date, its just that 'nice' is the only aspect of their personality a particular girl has seen up until that point. It usually just means that the girl doesn't know him very well yet.
The answer, guys? Be yourself, faults, idiosyncrasies and all.
cherrybrandy: true,i can add to that.. in my experience, people claiming to be nice though, dont quite add to that, nice people normally dont consider themselves nice..
Ya i did say that on one of my posts..I never believe a mans words "claiming they are nice"..I go by actions..Good post though cherry.

matt1wt: Yes woman on a biological level woman run from nice guys because on an instint level nice= week, and woman want a strong male biologically. Their logic part of their brain tell them they want a nice guy but their instincts tell them overwise.

cherrybrandy: true, what is a a "nice "guy anyway?
nice
1. Giving pleasure, or satisfaction; agreeable; good natured; kind.
2. Fine, or subtle; requiring careful attention.
3. archaic fastidious.
The word nice entered Middle English in the sense 'stupid', from Latin nescius, meaning 'ignorant'. It developed a range of senses, from 'wanton and disolute' to 'strange, or rare' and 'coy and reserved'. It was first used with a positive connotation in the sense 'fine, or subtle' in the 16th century and the current main meanings, senses 1 and 2 are recorded from the late 18th century.

The dictionary actually says nice means "ignorant" or strange? 1,2 & 3 does not sound like they are saying strange.. I suppose I should look up the words archaic and fastidious though..Maybe I'm missing some interpretations?.. lol

The bit in the italics is the historical bit.
I quite like the "wanton and dissolute" bit myself.
Christmas1: "inner circle"...what is this inner circle Blaine? And you as a "nice guy", uh no.... We want a guy who will be protective and show that he "can be" bad to everyone else but us. BUT be a little bad in the bedroom.....
Nope, my problem is I can't find a truly honest nice guy. Most of them around here just put on a good show at first but true colors always come out. I haven't given up..yet....
Bearmark62: still no one has defined nice , told me where the word comes from but what is nice, decent.
For me looks arnt important its whats on the iside that matters. A nice guy is someone who treats his lady with love, respect, dignity, accepts her for who she is, listens to her opinion, helps her when she needs it and offers even if he knows she doesnt need help at the time...
