I had a client meeting yesterday and printed a copy of the drawings for the man to sign. We went over in detail and he admitted there were many things he didn't notice looking at the kitchen layout on his computer screen that he saw on paper! I mentioned about retaining more details seeing things on paper and he thought it was only him who noticed it.
My niece cannot text more than a single line or thought. I get hundreds of texts and asked... "Can't you think of more than one thing before you press the send key?"
JimNastics "I wouldn't want anything lost in a cloud laugh or where others could access it."
Anything we do online is captured somewhere. Gmail, Google... someone has a copy. The (only) thing about cloud storage is encryption and redundant backup, so it's not like uploading something to Facebook where people get to see and use your information.
daniela "For me...my visual memory is from a printed copy..and not from a screen."
Agree. I'm checking drawings tonight and I have to flip back and forth to verify if my designer made all the revisions from meeting notes. Paper is the most accurate and quickest method for me.
Jim, I created a weekly calendar from a spread sheet. I've been using this for years. Basically it's 7 rows and I print the blank form that I fill in appointments, do list, and I can easily go back to pull phone numbers. Also, I'm keeping mileage of the job sites I visit.
daears, many places keep all their transactions electronically. If you don't have your receipt, they can look it up, that is... if you purchased with a credit/debit card.
Returning products at The Home Depot is literally no questions asked.
ChesneyChrist "I'd like to find a happy medium between the poor getting charged to withdraw their own money from the bank and people browsing in stores only to buy it all online."
I try to support local business when possible. Unfortunately, we are being forced into a 'purchase online' society.
I've experienced what Z described on sites that block negative comments.
I stopped doing reviews for products found at The Home Depot because they often rejected my comments if I actually described what and why some products didn't work as stated.
I go to a site that offers different free software on a daily basis. Some selections are tester versions where the most important features are blocked in hopes you will like the product enough to get the paid version. Most of the reviews are good. However, they despise full versions that only have 1 year free license. Those products always get negative reviews due to the expiration, ignoring how well the program actually works!
