Modern families are so steeped in creating their little capsule of a perfect home, the one/two kid/s, the cars for husband and wife, the perfects schools for the kids, the perfect job and the perfect social circle and the perfect family entertainment . . . that most of them have NOT factored their elderly into the equation . . . especially NOT mom and dad who provided the education and the basis for this perfect life....
So NO . . . I don't think we can count on them helping out
I think the time is coming when more and more people will realize that if we don't do something SOON... it will be too late.
I think part of the problem is them everybody seems to think that it costs more to go green. On the contrary, it could cost less.
There are soo many LITTLE things which we could do, which can make a difference. All we have to do is change our way of thinking, and make a decision to do something . . .ANYTHING . . . to make a positive difference.
The old adage of "A lot of people, each doing a little, can make a difference" is very true,we just need a LOT more, on board to make the difference significant
Its icy cold out here today and this is making me think of one of our favourites. "Vetkoek" - don't know what your equavalent would be called but it is essentially deepfried (Iknow....very unhealthy ) bread dough, and we would fill it with Jam, or cheese, or Curry for a more filling meal
Elmo, I sincerely hope this is mere speculation or some hair-brained scheme by some idiot,to draw attention, with no solid foundation in fact
Egypt without the pyramids would be like Cape Town without Table Mountain, or Oudtshoorn without the Cango Caves
While both the Caves and Table Mountain, were moulded by a Higher Being, the brilliance and precision, with little to non technological assistance, which went into the construction of these monuments is an accolade to the phenomenol abilities of the human mind.
Any attempt to destroy them cannot BUT be described as the pinnacle of ignorance and stupidity
I'm in agreement with choco, and added to that is my inability to roll over and play dead, never give up on life, love, family and friends, without a fight
