@Red....ai ai...I know you are right....our memories live in our hearts and no matter where we go they will always be with us..but I'm finding that each little thing in my house somehow has a memory attached to it and by packing it up or getting rid of it feels like you are doing the same to the memory...that's such a crazy notion. Happy to hear you are moving closer to your kids and grandkids...that's wonderful...
@danielangelvega....mmm...I thought about that but unfortunately my neighbour beat me to it...so now I have a B&B directly opposite me... way to close for competition....nice idea tho
@Cat...... your advice sounds just like my friends...they were taking pity on my poor pets at the time. and yes...I agree about taking a huge risk with letting out your property in SA... no way...
@ladyofrage575...thanks for your advice...I thought about renting it out but have heard so many horror stories of negligent tenants ruining your property that I decided against it...
aaaaaah...inspector jarred1....thanks for your excellent detective work...yes you are 100% correct...and I recently spent several absolutely lovely days down there....
@ Nakitende.....yes I agree it certainly is a decision only I can make...its a question of sentimentality vs practicalities...thanks for the support though...
@ JoleenC....the moment you walk through the door and start placing your furniture just there where you want to...and stand back to admire the effect...and you say to yourself with amazement..."my home".....only two words.... but what a vast flood of emotion to wash over you.....a thousand times congratulations and may your home always be filled with more fun and laughter and sincere peace than you can handle .....
@Luke...nice blog ...proud to be a South African...not everything is negative about this country...there are still many gems to discover if you're looking for the true treasures over here....I guess it all comes down to perspective and a heart for seeking the good wherever you are...
@Sharnah...thank you for reminding me of the faithfulness of the Lord ..just when things seem to get to me and I begin to think perhaps he has forgotten me I'm reminded of this verse ..."See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands".....Isaiah 49:16....what an amazing thought that we are never forgotten but always there right in the palm of his hands....
@ Gentlejim......what a lovely touching poem....yup...I had the water works going there.....My husband died when my youngest daughter was only eight....prize giving, Christmas and birthdays to name but a few were special days that high lighted her daddy's absence...but like a real trooper she usually landed up encouraging and inspiring everyone else.... thank you for this very moving blog..
@ Gentlejim...hi ...working with unreasonable clients in my work place stresses the spit out of me...my way of dealing with it is to go home at the end of the day ..put on some gentle relaxing music and then climb on my treadmill and walk until I'm happy again...that works for me
@Gentlejim....nice one... just goes to show..one man's drink is another guy's poison...err no its the other way round... ai any way thanks for the laugh
Hi there I'm trying to post a video using copied URL link with no spaces.....but when I preview it ...it doesn't work....not sure what I'm doing wrong...please
@Nakitende.....Hi there ..... nice one.. BTW...never aim low...use your head and raise above the rest...the King never said how you where to eat your fruit nor how long it was to take...so set your own rules and be the winner you were meant to be ....
@coolguy321...mmm just off the top of my head...if this young lady after 12 years is still not interested in spending 15 mins with you...then may I suggest you get over her and move on with your life as she really does not appear to be the right one for you....
@Cat...you both separated as kids...perhaps now as grown mature men you are able to enjoy a reconciliation.....if your friend was still mad at you surely he would not now after all these years wasted his time with contacting you once again....I suggest you enjoy the reunion and make sure you have a good wine to go with it...sounds like you two have alot of catching up to do....
What to do?....I suggest you enjoy the attention and I sincerely hope that this person is a truly lovely genuine man who eventually plucks up the courage to write to you and that he brings you much joy... best of luck...
@Cat....should this meeting with this friend of yesterday materialise and you are able to reconnect as friends again.... then you have truly regained a rare treasure.... ....good luck
@Cat...and sadly people like that lady at your door hinder the poor people who really need the charity from obtaining such help....take your neighbour for instance...what are the changes he will be helping out anyone soon who comes knocking at his door...especially after the last rip off...
@Cat....ai man...in moments like those you feel like rushing over to the mirror to check if you have 'Stupid idiot" written across you forehead....eish or perhaps "I'm with gullible".....
To sell..or not to sell
