Hi there NHBob great blog, very challenging to gender roles in current society
I was a housewife for over 23 years and totally loved every bit of it and yes I saw my role as keeper of the family sanctuary we commonly call home as my priority in life.
However when my husband died I was then forced into the role of single parent and income provider and since then have also enjoyed the state of been independent and self sufficient.
I agree with MNT that we should use our education for what it was intended for but how wonderful if couples compliment each other by bring and applying their natural skills (ie nest building or hunting), education or resources to any given relationship
Inspirational as always, you truly are a very gifted and talented person, thank you so much for sharing with us.
your last paragraph, reveals how often we don't always see what is really there in front of us because our eyes are so often clouded and blinded by despairs of our own doing as we project our past experiences into moments yet to come, subconsciously bracing ourselves for disappointments and hope deferred, forcing us to live in a world that is not real but a figment of our own making and we wonder why we are so miserable and unhappy.
you are so right to encourage people to rend those veils that cover their eyes and hearts and to "Look deeper. Reach deeper and Rise again."
Such an interesting tit-bit of information and what a busy closely knit community on barges...how fascinating...I must remember to include the mechanical music museum on my wish list of places to visit....but I think I will leave the barges for you men folk to enjoy

@ Non...I checked out the weirdo on your link mmm...42 is not quite the answer to the ultimate Question of Life, the universe, and everything" even though it is your favourite number

Mike I really found the info on your link very interesting and can't see the reasoning behind all the fuss. It usually takes thinking out of the box that makes you stand out from the rest of the crowd Well done!
