RE: Disney World In Danger

Lou, the folks running those schools were the "bleeding heart lib'rul doves" of the time!
Their approach was, "Kill the Indian, but save the man".

The "hawkish" approach was more direct -
"I have never in my life seen a good Indian, and I have seen thousands, except when I've seen a dead Indian."
Spoken in the U.S. House of Representatives by Montana Territorial Delegate, James Cavanaugh

That said, it's been claimed that European treatment of indigenous peoples in North America was among the most "benevolent" when compared to their treatment on other continents such as Africa & Australia.

Perhaps something could be worked out!
If there's a, say, eight year-old boy living in you, you could get together with Stefonknee in about 10 -15 years.
You know...after you've both grown to adulthood.

Gotta admit...I'd have some questions if (s)he'd been going to school with, let us say, my daughter. wow

Even more so in 'bout ten years if (s)he went out for the wrestling team.

Probably a good chance of being state champ, though.

Stark raving sober, Witch.
I just heard this reported on a radio program, searched the subject, and found the article & accompanying vid.
It has also been reported online by other outlets.

Vike - VERY hard to find fault with your thinking.

As noted, (s)he originally thought (s)he was a nine year-old girl, but "her" adoptive sister is seven, and she wanted to be the big sister, so (s)he agreed to be six.

Question - Will (s)he be entering first grade...with others "her" age? shock

BTW - I'm still not completely convinced this isn't some kinda put on.
News outlets have jumped to conclusions before.

Anyone else heard anything about this?

To those of our generation "Globetrotters" & "Meadowlark Lemon" were virtually synonymous.

RE: Let there be light

Sometime ago, Mythbusters conducted an experiment in which they tried to determine the life of various lighting devices...incandescent, fluorescent, LED.
The LED outlasted all others, and by a wide margin. They eventually had to terminate the experiment, as the LED lasted so long, it was simply taking up too much of the program's production time.
It's good that you're pleased with your LED's light output. You'll probably not have an opportunity to replace it for a long, long time.
And during that time you'll be saving on your electric bill.
Good choice, sez I! applause

Also, I really like flied lice. And bbq'd squids. wink grin

It is interesting, is it not, Ish?
It essentially establishes and formalizes the celebration as being...well...a bit out there. Kinda dysfunctional, if you will.
As many (most?) seasonal gatherings turn dysfunctional anyway, many people are saddened, disappointed & disillusioned. blues moping crying
Because Festivus accepts a degree of dysfunction, folks aren't disappointed when it occurs.
It does much to alleviate the Holiday Blues :blue: which afflict so many people. grin

RE: Bernie Sanders...Gotta Love Him...

You're thinking of Harlan Sanders, Z.

I've not read "Runaway Inequality", but I heard Les do a two hour interview on Coast to Coast AM. It was revealing, to say the least.
I've very rarely bought a book on thr basis of an author's interview. This one might be an exception. I've also thought of a few people I'd like to send it to.

If Bernie could use objective support, that book is it.

RE: Bernie Sanders...Gotta Love Him...

If you like him now...look into the book,

"Runaway Inequality" by Les Leopold

Bernie should do everything he can to get the book's message out.
If it wouldn't get him elected, it would at LEAST provide documentation that what he's talking about is all too real...and his approach to the situation is quite realistic.
