As the plane prepared for takeoff, a flight attendant noticed a man of the cloth who was obviously nervous. Attempting to calm him, she asks, "Didn't Our Lord tell us He would always be with us?" The preacher replied, "Actually, the verse is 'LO, I am with you always.'"
Do NOT go with option 4! If embalming is done improperly, alternate heating/freezing causes liqueurs of decomposition to leak out. It smells terrible & draws flys. I am most certainly NOT(!) making this up!! I've seen & smelled it. Yes. Really.
There's a very similar - essentially identical - display in Belgium, WI. There's a place to leave donations. I b'lieve it's a franchise operation that raises money for charity. Anyone else seen one of these?
A group of us arrived in Appalachia and would be working in a very remote area for about a month. Being unfamiliar with the local fauna, one of our group asked a local if there were any bears around there. Replied the local, "Oh shore. We got blue bears, raz bears, straw bears...all kinds of 'em!"
Now, if the newcomer had asked if there were any BARS around, he would've been informed, "Black bars are right common...ye might come on one if'n ye go pickin' bears."
Probably the usual... Pick up a bottle of Mad Dog. Maybe Wild Irish Rose...you know...special occasion & all. Stop by the Mission...see what kinda soup they're putting out. You know. The usual.
Perhaps Time Magazine intentionally makes controversial selections... to get folks talking about Time Magazine. If that's the case - it's working! Agreed Z, "Person Of The Year" does convey the idea of an honor.
Time is a news periodical. It makes its selection of a person, group, idea or object of the year that "...for better or worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year."
Based on that criteria, their Person Of The Year and the runners-up are quite good choices.
RE: This will get you in the spirit.......
It has been said that Santa Claus is America's patron saint...and it's appropriate that we seek him in department stores & malls.
