As for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, they're not even sure he's alive, rumour had it he was killed in a coalition air strike, it's not April 1st by any chance confused
Seems the Time readers had a poll to choose who was the person of the year. Wonder what kind of, people read that magazine.
I do admire Angela Merkel....tough, intelligent...cool in a mans world....
But Trumpy....WTF...he is just a joke...and his 2 sons are big game trophy hunters....disgusting...frustrated

Strange, very very strange confused
Famous, infamous, very thin line. They go for people most people will have heard of and want to know more about.

Why we didn't make the cut I will never understand. confused
They are very strange selections confused

What have anyone of them done for the world this year?

Merkel is somewhat acceptable, but the other two are only known for spreading hate and fear.

Maybe it is based on their secret bank account balances giggle
OgGoDeo , ok I see but the only thing I want to read about the leader of IS is his obituary professor wine
unlaoised , it took me several minutes to realise it wasn't some kind of warped joke doh wine
This person of the year is definitely not a popularity contest judging from who are on tne list. dunno Maybe it is just who got the most attention in the media.
Chrome, seems you haven't chopped enough heads from aid workers to qualify this year sigh doh beer
Molly, maybe it's based on bad hair days dunno laugh rolling on the floor laughing wine

Ek, or maybe they're on some Mafia style hit list confused laugh wine
Yes indeed Zman...hopefully the b..strd has been blown into Kingdom Come and likewise his followers as quickly as possible!!......People of the Year Awards given out in most countries are awards to people who have done exceptionally good deeds in their Country.....Time Magazine just calculate the numbers of people influenced by certain individuals and that is what they base their winners on......
OgGoDeo, as I say I've never read it but from now I'll make a point of not reading it professor laugh rolling on the floor laughing
Hitlist...no think Trump would have been the winner then. laugh

Time is a news periodical.
It makes its selection of a person, group, idea or object of the year that "...for better or worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

Based on that criteria, their Person Of The Year and the runners-up are quite good choices.

Yes, we might end up having a president that can't get out of the US..rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing bouquet
Time Magazine,
Did they not get into a controversial issue,
with the making more sinister a photo of O J Simpson some time back.

First darkening an African American.
And now Making more white a White Anglo Saxon Protestant laugh

As Orwellian as it can get my friend rolling on the floor laughing
Perhaps Time Magazine intentionally makes controversial selections...
to get folks talking about Time Magazine.
If that's the case - it's working! conversing
Agreed Z, "Person Of The Year" does convey the idea of an honor.

zman
They chose Merkel due to her willingness in aiding the refugees from what I gathered...a positive choice rather than celebrating the Donald or IS leader...wine
