I'm not a member of an organized religion. I'm proud to be a humble Quaker. ____________________ A Quaker farmer goes to milk his cow... The cow kicks the pail over. Farmer: "Thou knowest that I mayest not curseth thee."
Goes again to milk the cow... The cow swats the farmer with her tail. Farmer: "Thou knowest that I mayest not striketh thee."
Goes again to milk the cow... She kicks the farmer against the wall. Farmer: "What thou knowest not, is that I mayest selleth thee to a Baptist... and he will beateth the devil out of thee!"
My Italian (NOT Sicilian! And more specifically Neapolitan) father-in-law was involved in state politics. He scrupulously avoided any HINT of "family" connections. Absolutely NOTHING was ever to be fixed! If your lawnmower broke down...you got it repaired. NOT fixed!
Some of his kids (wife included) married non-Italians. We were known as the "Mickey Blue Eyes" wing of the family.
On those VERY rare occasions when I may have done something to annoy the wife, she'd remind me that she could make one phone call and I could find out where Jimmy Hoffa is.
Doe- Racial profiling?...you bet it occurs! My son (who resembles his Italian mother) was absolutely "profiled" as a Native American - and (mis)treated as such by Red Wing, MN Police.
It's a whole lot more personal when it happens to YOU!!
Apples & oranges Z! You're comparing a fighter with a high power to weight ratio to a transport built to efficiently(!) carry cargo & people. Equipping it with engines powerful enough to go that fast @ sea level would defeat one of the designers' primary objectives...efficiency. Even a Spitfire couldn't do close to 500 mph...even at altitude, let alone sea level!
Pilots debated whether a plane of that type could even be effectively controlled enough to hit those buildings at those (impossible) speeds.
Closest thing available...some of 'em tried it in a simulator. One did it but it took him a lot of tries.
And you're trying to tell me an impossible feat NEVER attempted - let alone ACCOMPLISHED - in the real world was done with a guy at the controls who barely knew how to fly a basic trainer... TWICE!!!
What people know to be true doesn't matter, Lindsy. What matters, is what they can be induced to BELIEVE... even if it conflicts with what they know to be true.
Once AGAIN...None of this explains, nor implies, WHO did WHAT or WHY... It DOES point out that the commonly held concept of what occurred is NOT what happened.
