That makes me a slightly left leaning Libertarian.

I knew a guy who took this. He'd always sworn he was a true, dyed in the wool, CONSERVATIVE!
The test said differently. Placed him as a right of center Libertarian.

That really shook his image of himself!

It is fun! In some instances, it seems the quiz knows folks better than they know themselves.
Or, folks know a lot less about political philosophies they align themselves with than they THINK they do!!

Unfortunately, our popular culture has tainted (to put it mildly) such sentiments.


As for the date, perhaps the very early concurrence of the Feast of the Nativity, Saturnalia, Birth of Mithra, Sol Invictus, etc. made it's eventual adulteration inevitable.

And let's tell 2-4 year olds stories of a never-seen figure who miraculously flies through the air delivering good things to deserving people.

At the same time we're starting to tell them of Christ.

And five years later thoroughly confuse them when we explain we were lying about one, but passing along truth about the other.

And then wonder how a "Freedom from Religion" movement ever got started in America.

And those "Freedom" folks want to take Christ/Xmas out of the public square?
It's probably the best proselytizing tool atheism/spiritual-but-not-religious has.
Curious & curiouser, indeed!

A case could be made that Christ/Xmas is a greater hazard to faith than Halloween.
Actually, a very GOOD case, if you think about it.

Jim, I'd love to know to what extent American Christmas shopping alone augments the Chinese economy! Perhaps Black Friday would be better described as "RED" Friday!...
