"Dominion" over the Seas, the Earth, the Animals, the Plants, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. This type of arrogance and disrespect of Nature, has got us into the Environmental Mess, which we find ourselves in today......
Unfortunately, that very intelligent Grey African Parrot, on youtube (6 comments up) would seem to have more brains than most of the Godbotherers on here....
Actually, the Aethiest is (in a lot of ways) more ethical, than the so-called Christian; because he/she does not outsource/blame their problems on some kind of purely imaginary being (allegedly floating around somewhere up there in the sky - although no one is exactly sure where).......
Also, smoking is a legal drug (albeit a bad one). Smoking once in a while (socially, OP's); I was astounded by the cost of the ciggies nowadays (since I last bought a pack, a fair while ago). It could also be argued that smokers have a right to enjoy their (legal) vice. In Australia, it could never be said that (committed) smokers don't pay their share of tax!
Yet there are those who seem to be able to smoke cigarettes (heavily), for most of their life, and "get away" with it. A few years ago, a good friend of mine passed away - at age 89!. He first smoked "behind the bikesheds at school", when he was 13. After that, it was pretty much a pack a day, from that time on. Now this man worked hard manually, for most of his adult life, and also walked long distances, right up until the last few years of his life, (having never held a driver's license). He also drank like a fish, (although nearly always beer). Growing up in the Depression, (in Sydney), this man was definitely one of the "old school" - coming from a time when smoking was probably more socially acceptable, than being a nonsmoker. It would appear that he also had Cast Iron DNA!.
(RIP Bob).
Never would I suggest, however, that any smoker has the right to impinge upon the clean air being enjoyed by another.
Not sure about that one, perhaps some ground ancient spelt (as unleavened bread) might be appropriate. Anyway, the Good Lord created the Pig, and that's good enough for me!
The Athiest School of Buddhism would have to be the most credible of the major religions. They also claim that life is an illusion - which it is. Reincarnation may be a real possibility if our identity survives death. In saying this, they do not admit the possibility of a God - as there are only perfected beings (Bodhisattvas), who have escaped the wheel of endless reincarnation.....
No, to answer your question, it does not. Atheists have NO need whatsoever to meet anywhere on a regular basis, to affirm their Lack of Belief/s. It is for this reason, that I say that Atheists are Stronger in their Beliefs (or lack of them); than are the Christians, Muslims, or adherents of any other faith, who must meet regularly en masse, to affirm their belief system/s.
I don't deny your right to believe. I respect your beliefs, considering your experience. For myself, I don't feel this. I can never remember having any beliefs - even as a child...

There is a Poetry Section, on this very site........
