How I live without god
Pretty well actually, and more like Christians are supposed to live, than most actual Christians, except for the going to church, praying, and believing in a god stuff. I also sometimes tend not to turn the other cheek and I don't own religious paraphernalia, like statues nor rosaries, etc....The question was asked below (which is against blogging rules) and yet the blogger does not allow comments. Rather odd.
Regardless, we ALL live without gods. Because gods don't exist. It's just that some people still BELIEVE in one god or another without ever seeing one.
Some have retained an ancient belief system passed down many generations,
originating before people had a much better understanding. Indeed, a lot of people embraced
the belief in a god, when they were a child and never rejected that belief system upon maturing. And every religion seems to think they have the right religion and have been belligerent about that. Indeed, thousands have died in wars because of their beliefs about this.
Don't get me wrong, we don't thoroughly understand everything yet, and perhaps never will. But, we have a far better understanding, than when people believed in some pretty weird things like gods, human sacrifices, and that the earth was the center of the solar system. Most people have made real progress in learning. Granted, not all.
Not all people are able to grasp the concepts of science. Indeed, there is a rather broad range in any large population with regard to intelligence level. We should accept that. Reality is, that some people are geniuses and some people are 'Darwin Award' recipients. Most people fall somewhere on
the scale in between those extremes. Our current "so-called" president is a lot closer to the 'Darwin Award' end of the scale than being a "stable genius". But, higher on the scale than those who actually believed he was a genius. He really had those people fooled.
Some actually believe that a god chose him to be president a double buffoonery.
Hey, to each their own. Live & let live.
But, sometimes it's shocking to watch them do harm to themselves.....and others.

I attribute a lot of peoples imagings are due to drugs and dehydration, also a medical fact. The quests for enlightenment go down many paths.
Their brain is wired that way and it has nothing to do with intelligence.
Neither necessitates belittling the seeker.
I prefer the truth.
Fear of death is the ultimate insecurity. And that plays a pivotal role in the genesis of a savior or God. Now, that savior or God becomes a commercial for the religion.
But then reaching at a relatively higher psychological stage, human beings inherits a quest of knowledge by questioning and reasoning. So science is the best tool of learning. But the approach is objective. It observes outside. Spiritualism is again the science but with a subjective approach. Reality is meaningless in want of an observer. So, to be spiritual you have to be an observer without involvement.
Just my thoughts... self-righteousness not even intended.
Beautifully put Jim.I echo those sentiments.
Much appreciated.
Thank you.
I sometimes struggle with complicated topics when writing in English and wonder if I expressed myself clearly enough. I write much better in my native tongue.
Were you here with another nickname before? Your photo is somewhat familiar to me...

We still don't know "the truth". We gain knowledge, little by little every day, yet existence itself is very complex and complicated. Humans might be the most intelligent creatures on this planet, but that doesn't mean that our intelligence is very developed or infinite and that we will be able to understand everything despite our attempts. That "unknown" will always inspire our imagination and open the door to all sorts of beliefs. And maybe some of them are not necessarily untrue... Science is - of course - the best tool we have to explore the world and we should continue following that path.
@iotaoo
Of course.
I'm also interested in spirituality, but I can understand that that type of "solitary spirituality" isn't for everyone. I also don't "need" God. I rarely think about that concept at all. If something like that, some Absolute, "exists" - it's so far from human ability to comprehend that even thinking about IT is - just imagining and telling stories to yourself. So I rather don't do that.

Humans might be the most intelligent creatures on this planet
Then, the intelligence is just one part of us. We are often motivated and ruled by other things that we posses - needs, feelings, passions... If fear of death (for example) rules your life, you might suppress your intelligence (and disbelief) and accept anything that will give you at least some sort of comfort and a feeling of security.
Too complicated subject for CS blogs!
Humans are the only intelligent species

Beliefs?
I strongly protests, you are taking my experiences to be beliefs. You are liable to face a defamation suit.
Hahahaha
I admit it was a journey postponed in the midway...and so can't be claimed to be the final truth and so you can call it beliefs.
People have all sorts of experiences and call some of them "enlightenment". I also had various experiences and insights and achieved an interesting perspective. I know what you are talking about. It's just that I don't believe any more that any of that is "spiritual". I used to believe so in the past. Now I don't. I think that simply certain brains have certain abilities. Some are extraordinary, some are unusual, some are liberating... I can stretch my brain to see everything as one, then everything as empty inside, then everything dissolving itself, so that MANY become NOTHING and then to (non)exist in the silence, but ... it just means that my brain is very stretchy and flexible. Nothing more. This is how I see most of those "spiritual experiences" now...

Jimbo, the biggest divider on CS,
(although it does not take too much intelligence, to work that one out)...
