I think I understand your perspective, chat, but don't really feel sympathetic towards it. It's good to know there is someone watching over me in case I contravene a rule.
But isn't living in a society about that? Everybody pays and and you get it back when you need it. Would you be happier if the police only protected you if you paid them, or fire fighters would only respond if you had some sort of private arrangement with them? Some of you Americans are so mean spirited, care about no one but yourself.
Okay, if you just give people everything they need they will have no incentive to work for it, I get that, but what possible objection could you have to free comprehensive healthcare and free education?
