Ninayyn - He wanted a short answer? "No." That's about as short an awswer as you could give.
Exotic11 - What are the chances of you moving to the northwestern U.S.,preferably Kent, Washington? Probably about as much chance as a mouse in a room full of cats, I suppose.
Oh my goodness, that's funny! The last time I heard the word "obey" in a wedding ceremony, a male relative was getting married to a lovely women, and part of her vow was "obey." There was a bit of snickering in the audience, as I recall.
Liveinhope "sweetkitten, i am glad you enjoyed the experience, a photograph, is a frozen moment in time, im sure soon, you will capture many magic, and special moments, of family, and friends,"
You are right, Liveinhope. Photos do capture one's life at the moment the photo is taken. Which explains why one of my favorite things to do when I visit someone's home is to look around the living room at all the photographs that are normally displayed on peopples' walls, because photos tell the story of the family.
Jim - Years ago, I took a photography class from the local community college. The instructor was a professional photographer who developed the evidence films for the local police department. We had a choice of instruction in picture taking and composition, or the darkroom where we developed photos. I choose the darkroom. It was a lot of fun, and I developed my own black and white photos for several years. My grandpa invented the photographic enlarger ten years before Kodak even thought of making one.
Sweetkitten - You must be talking about the Brighton & Howe Camera Club that meets in the Hove Methodist Church in Howe. It's a nice fun bunch of people, no doubt about it.
Because a very unprofessional nurse horribly botched a blood test (even after numerous tries), my child is so afraid of shots, she wouldn't take a vaccine if I wanted her to. I finally had to resort to using an actual competent nurse to finish her blood test. So now I can get my child to go to the doctor, but I cannnot get her to do any lab work.
Boy, isn't this the truth! Actually, one of these is achievable. If one has a hearing aid, they can turn it down or even off and hear nothing but blessed silence!
And, no, I don't wear a hearing aid (unfortunately, in the first marriage! )
The cops in NZ must be a lot more liberal. The cops here in the U.S. don't give a ride unless they've got prisoners on their way to jail, except maybe in extreme cases, but certainly not for a date.
I have never been a fan of tattoos on men or women. And, to me, tattoos give a "rough" appearance, like the bad girl or bad boy image, much like a biker might have.
I didn't know where to put the weight on here, either. I've been on sites where we put the actual weight instead of "average" or "a few extra pounds", and those sites were much more accurate on weight. Field is right, in that one person's "few extra pounds" is average to one person but heavy to another person.
Sweet Zweet, the heavenly smells from the kitchen when my mother would bake her bread in the oven when we were kids. I must have been between 5 and 10 at the time.
I agree that pictures taken too far away don't work, nor ones that are too dark to see the features or which have extraneous information that is not needed in the photo. I've seen lots of photos which violate the CS standards, such as main profile pics with multiple people, ect.
A good, clear photo is the best approach.
Not everyone has the luxury of a friend who can take a good picture, so many of the profile pics have people taking their own photos with a cell phone.
Not being a college graduate, my choices were somewhat limited to labor-type jobs. I would never have been considered for an office job.
I have been preaching for decades about people having their own business, so they can be independent of "the man". Some of the happiest times of my laugh were the years I had my own businesses (70's to 80's). And now I have the buttons and the equipment to put them together. People think that the huge corporations are the backbone of America. Wrong! It's the small businesses that are the backbone of America. The one-shop cleaners, the local tire shop, the restaurant you favor so much, the mom-and-pop store that has such endearing quality - these small businesses are the backbone of America. They give to the community. The big corporations just take, and give very little back.
Because all the things you mentioned are things that can be measured. Love is an emotion, and emotions cannot be measured. We can see the effects of emotions, but can't measure them.
Hard drives are incredibly rugged. Is it possible that most of the computer is fried, but that the hard disk itself might be saveable, even if it has to be torn out of the hard drive? You might consider this option, since the contents of the hard drive were precious to you. I hate to see you lose your stuff like this. My sister had two computers that were fried in the fire. One was totally useless, and could not be recovered (needs a new hard drive put in), but the other one was able to have the hard drive recovered.
