It depends how you define religion. In the East religion is generally looked upon as a philosophy, but I have put this question to many Buddhist monks and teachers, the answer has always been the same...it's a religion, and some have added, but religion is only a word.

The guy was deranged, he wanted to end his life but make a name for himself in doing so. Dont you think that is more plausible? You're deflecting from the main issue, how did such a person get access to such lethal weapons?
