A friend of mine suffers from that condition. It took many years for her doctors to find the right medication, but these days, with the right medication she lives a comparatively normal and fulfilling life.
The vast majority, if not all travelers who occasionally descend on my neighborhood show no respect for those around them whatsoever. It usually cost my local council around £10,000 to clear the mess they leave behind. They really could not care less for the environment or the people they choose to live amongst.
The past is just memories, a collection of thoughts, the future also can only be thoughts. The present moment is the only time you experience anything, the only time you can live.
"Ask a roomful of people to define love and it's likely you will gather just as many definitions as there are people in the room. Love is probably one of the most used, misused and abused words in our language. This is also why, while it may be easy to 'talk the talk of love', it's far from easy to 'walk the walk' of love. There are not different types of love, there is only one love, but there are many faces and forms of love as it finds its way through us all and out into the world. Compassion, care, respect, forgiveness are only a few of the almost infinite ways that the light of love can be felt, seen and known."
Mike George
To find true happiness you need love. Not the love for something or someone, just the presence of love.
The mental health charity Mind has just issued a statement in regards to the stigmatisation of people suffering such conditions as depression which we are witnessing quite clearly here on this thread....."Crazy people?" The media of course are loving and fuelling this idea that somehow people who are, or have experienced depression are incapable of fulfilling their role in society. I'm sure many airline pilots have suffered bouts of depression, without feeling the need to fly their aircraft into a mountainside. Depression is an illness that can strike almost anyone, in varying degrees of severity and the type of reporting we are seeing does little to help a greater understanding of this most common illness, in fact it does everything to add further stigma to those who are, or who have struggled with this condition.
When enough people have gone through their personal version of The Shift to the new consciousness, then a critical mass will form and suddenly everyone will become aware of the New Reality and its heart-centered values.
That is the day when heart-centered values will become the focus of everyday thinking for the vast majority of people. That is the day when humanity will begin to look back on what has changed and realize that a massive shift has occured.
Glad to hear you're sleeping better. I think most of us have suffered from some form of sleep disorder at some stage or another. One of my sons quite regularly has this problem, it really does impact on his life when his sleep pattern is disturbed, particularly if it's over a period of time. It would seem though, from a recent study into sleep and cannabis, a small amount before bedtime can help a person to enter into a deep sleep, bypassing the rem stage which doesn't provide the depth of sleep that our body and mind requires. The study concluded, that all things taken into account, perhaps the use of a small amount of cannabis would be better than suffering sleep deprivation and certainly better than using medication such as prescription sleeping tablets.
Many airlines have a rule that the pilot is never left alone in the cockpit. Should one of the pilots leave the cockpit for any reason, another member of staff will wait in there for their return. In fact Easyjet have just announced this will be their policy from tomorrow onward, Ryan Air and Monarch have been operating this system for quite some time, in fact it's compulsory in the US. You have to wonder why all operators don't conform to this. Also it seems that this is not the first incident of this kind. Only last year a co-pilot locked the Captain from the flight deck, took over control of the aircraft and flew it to another destination in order to seek political asylum. Lufthansa should be shouldering some of the blame for this tragic event imo.
Apparently the override code can be deactivated from inside the flight deck, the co-pilot appears to have used this function to deny the captain access.
I glad you clarified that lindsey, was just about to ask what you meant...
Yes I do have hope. There is a 'shift' happening and that's gathering momentum also. One way or another a new dawn awaits our planet, with or with us the planet will survive.
The collective insanity of the human species, driven mainly by the ego is what has driven us away from our true state of being, which is, love, compassion and kindness. This affliction, or the effects of it are gathering momentum rapidly. Man's increasing ability to kill and maim through advances in science and technology, not to mention our ability to spread hatred and fear will very soon lead us to a point of no return. And of course there is our insane destruction of the very planet we survive on. Unless a new way of being, a collective higher consciousness, an awareness of the truth takes place, our species is surely on the road to extinction, and we may be closer to that than we think.
The opposite is true. If it hurts, it's not love. Love cannot hurt, it's the healer of hurt. Hurt is a product of the ego. Hurt is only present when love is lost due to judgement, blame, expectation, attachment, dependency and jealousy. In those moments love is not present, it's temporally lost. Love doesn't create conflict, it doesn't suffer, it doesn't argue, it has nothing to do with any kind of pain.
Yes agape or disinterested love is another way of describing unconditional love. Eros is dynamic and shape shifting, it's an energy and can manifest as projection. Eros can split into polarities, hence love and hate can be present in any relationship. Unconditional love however is stable, cannot be shifted or changed by circumstance, it's a realisation of our true nature unaffected by the whims or demands of the ego.
RE: anyone hear of schizoaffective disorder?
Thoughts create emotions which then cause feelings.
