Do you have a nice mind?

Somehow I don't think it's the page limitation that would prevent us coming to an understanding of that question life. ..laugh

Do you have a nice mind?

Maybe a question for another thread topic.

It's a question so profound, even 50 pages on here wouldn't cover it...laugh

RE: What is ur life motto or indeed favourite quote to live by?..........

He's never looked for recognition, he says, if anyone wants to listen, they can come here to my house. He's still doing two talks a week from 7pm till 1030pm, not bad for a 96 year old.

If you look on YouTube I recommend the video titled, looking through the horses eyes, it give a great insight into his remarkable life,

RE: What is ur life motto or indeed favourite quote to live by?..........

Google Russel Williams Manchester. If you don't add Manchester your search will most likely come up with an American mass murderer...laugh

The guy is 96 and has been doing weekly talks in Manchester for 60 years, he's a truly enlightened being.

"Not I, not other than I."

A profound truth that describes everything we observe.

Do you have a nice mind?

Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words.

Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions.

Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits.

Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character.

Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.

Chinese proverb.

RE: Raw Religion

Actually the sutras make lots of references to supernatural beings who inhabit the universe, from demi gods, ghosts and devas to celestial Buddha's.

RE: Raw Religion

I don't think you'll see the soul mentioned in quantum physics .
Not sure how to post a link on here from my phone, but try googling quantum physics and Buddhism, you might be surprised.

RE: Raw Religion

Buddhism does not recognise the existence of the soul, or the self for that matter.

RE: Raw Religion

It depends how you define religion. In the East religion is generally looked upon as a philosophy, but I have put this question to many Buddhist monks and teachers, the answer has always been the same...it's a religion, and some have added, but religion is only a word.

RE: Raw Religion

Buddhism is a prime example of where a religion and science work together. Quantum physics confirms many Buddhist teachings, in fact Buddhism is sometimes referred to as science of the mind.

RE: Everytime just like the last

Indeed, a great song with questionable lyrics.

RE: Los Vegas

Well genearly and fortunately they don't. In the UK, a man takes his life every two hours on average. In fact, if you're male, under the age of 45 and you die, the most likely thing to have killed you is your self.

RE: Los Vegas

The guy was deranged, he wanted to end his life but make a name for himself in doing so. Dont you think that is more plausible?
You're deflecting from the main issue, how did such a person get access to such lethal weapons?

RE: Los Vegas

Do you seriously believe this?

doh

RE: Unconditional love!

Usually a statement like that is followed by some kind of explanation.

dunno

RE: Unconditional love!

Romantic love has to be reciprocal, therefore cannot be unconditional, there's always the shadow of self interest lurking beneath the surface.

Unconditional love is without self interest.

RE: Unconditional love!

To give love freely, without the need or expectation of anything in return is unconditional love, or agape as it's sometimes called.
It's rarely displayed, yet ironically it's our true nature.
