And to Muinteoir83.....I would encourage anyone when "they are looking for personal/professional development", but I would never mother them or patronise them
That's it exactly, there are so many on the live register now that they are unable to check up on every case. In the past, you would have been asked to show proof that you were actively seeking work, I think now, it's a lottery as to who is asked for this documentation.
But even with that "request", people get letters from employers that they know, saying "thanks for your application, but etc etc etc.....". The controls should be tighter
