A few days later we were chatting on the phone and he put his daughter, aged 10, on to talk to me.....

I'm going to turn this on it's head and say that I wouldn't date a single dad, ie a man that has his kids living with him full time, so I can fully understand why men wouldn't want to date single mums. Probably not a popular answer, but an honest one nonetheless
