Often, particularly here in So Cal. Tactically, I try to refocus on other things...

-Things are what they are for a reason - better things are in store. Or at least it does not hurt to think that way.

-I am blessed with this life. It could certainly be much worse.

-One day I may just move back to Michigan. Yes, I know - that sounds more depressing - but it is home.

-There's a couple of bikes in the garage. Maybe I should go tinker...

In sincere response to your post, it's been more than two years now, and I am, in fact, used to not having someone around, and am comfortable with that. Conversely, I think it might actually take a little time to adapt if there was someone around all the time now, if that makes sense.
