In my opinion, it should never be a convenience nor a form of birth control. That being said, it is a difficult enough decision as it is, but ultimately, the decision should rest with those involved, not a politician farming evangelicals.
This is great folks (thank you!) - he's been slowly going through the posts since yesterday. He did make a comment: "I can't see my son driving a car with a McCain sticker..."
I'm taking a little bedside dictation I told him he was talking to the world and he seems a bit nervous:
"I am totally blown away by the technology - and the cross section of humanity, and all these friends you have. It makes me want to say hello to each and every one of you."
"I really enjoyed each and every post, and the variety of comments."
I've been here a week. Clearly, the women are more "real," if you know what I mean. I know this area is depressed, but people still take the time to smile and even say hello. There is so much less self-absorption. In general, people just seem nicer. It's good to be home, albeit temporarily. Eventually, I'll end up back here.
We all know this goes both ways, of course. Still, I don't have any issues with small tests that could involve her security or at least the means of reaching a point where she feels comfortable.
Of course, the tests (or in some cases head games) can indeed go too far. That's usually a great time to walk away...
I called Hertz yesterday to extend my rental until next Saturday. My heavily discounted $159 a week was going to turn into $599 for the second week! The woman I was speaking to could not figure it out either.
She suggested I book another car online, which I did. I have this Appliance White Toyota RAV4 that after a week or so I was beginning to hate. There's nothing wrong with it, and I know it's just a rental, but I'm a car guy. So I went to the airport this morning to get rid of it.
What was waiting for me in the stall matching my name was a Kia Sportage. Things were not improving. I grabbed the contract and went in the office. I apologized for bothering the clerk - always be really nice because you never know, it may just be returned. I explained I was a car geek, and could I please have, well, a car? She asked if a new Mustang would be okay. My newly booked rate was $129/week - no way it could be the same price. She said it would be. Made my day...
RE: Hello, Tech Support?
Thank you, I needed that.
