I recently parted company with a motorcycle (unfortunately, not one of mine) - the first time in some 25 years. It was a low-speed slide-out, very minor damage. Thankfully, the owner of said bike is a good friend.
I ALWAYS wear gear, and good gear at that. But this was a little toodle in downtown LA around the block. No gear (helmet, of course).
Left a nice chunk of my palm on 6th street. and a good strip of skin right at my elbow. No broken bones, which was pretty amazing. The on-site medic (we were shooting a commercial) shook his head - very lucky. No soreness, no sprains, etc.
I always felt God (or a higher power for those less religious) perhaps looked after my rides. Needless to say, I was very grateful.
And do hang around here. My mother passed away late last year - and I was the one that had to get the rest of my family through it. There's some great people here - a number of which kept me sane through it all.
Most of the time, I make it a point to choose my words carefully. Some may view me as quiet, but I much prefer thoughtful.
It is perhaps even more important in a medium such as this, where tonality and expressions are completely absent. Maybe that is what the emoticons are for...
RE: Post a rumor about the person above you III
