It's difficult for me to fathom people's obtuse behavior at times. I can't imagine setting a dog on someone , unless they were set to do physical harm. Firstly it seems morally and ethically wrong, but then the dog would also be put down, and what gives me the right to make the choice for it's life. People are screwy at times.
I am glad that I do not have to enter people's properties. I have had men here occasionally when I have had issues with phone connections and electrical supplies, they were always polite.
Thank you for sharing a little of your life with me, John. I also work with the public and my co-workers and I often get together to swap stories. I think it makes it more bearable that you are not the only one dealing with the insane situations every day.
I just finished reading about this. Nature versus nurture. Ones genetics and experiences in life contribute to who you are. ( Not necessarily always limited to experiences in childhood)
This reminds me of the Beatles song, " All you need is love"... not such a bad philosophy in life. Although I don't believe I am going to start wearing beads and flower prints to achieve it.
If we ever catch up to the rest of the world, it is going to be quite interesting. Just as you think you have heard it all, along comes a musician that is brilliant.
I went to see U2... the introductory act was BB King... I will never forget it because I thought BB was brilliant and that was before the show started.
I had to try and recall what it is that you do again... I would have assumed you were involved in the production of music... yet, you are a journalist. Still an interesting occupation though.
I will never understand why some YouTube's are blocked to my country. I have been 'good'.... behaving nicely even! I do know this song though, and I like it.
I think if the internet companies ever get a reality check in Australia, perhaps people will listen to music online more. However, they charge you for every upload... so often your connection is slowed if you use too much in a month. Which is deadly for music!
I do love my CD's though, it means I can listen any time in the house, the car, take one to work... I have never got used to Ipods... I don't like having things in my ears... I am not even particularly fond of mobile phones.
The time will come though and Australia will jump on the bandwagon.
Until now, I had no idea they had whole albums on YouTube. No wonder people tend to use their computers for music. Although every song is considered an upload for me, so eventually in the month I hit my limit and it all slows down. I changed my upload amount , only to find that now I am on this site listening to music more, that I am hitting it faster.
I have never been into the library in the town I live in. I know where it is vaguely, but I guess I have so many books on my own shelves, there has never been a need for me to go there. In fact, I am trying to recall the last time I did go to the library... it was when my daughter was young, and I used to take her because I thought she needed to be exposed to as many books as possible. Mind you... She owned hundreds of books, because of her parents love of books.
It seems John... that you teach me something new each time you slip in.Thank you.
Yes, I was on my 14th shift straight last night. I am paying the price for my elaborate social life... the bills all seem to hit at the same time of year!
I read somewhere that you are weeding? On your birthday? That can't be right? I wandered out to the garden this morning and realise I have to start cutting everything back... it's all really beautiful in Spring though and I hate having to cut the lush growth back.
I just stepped in from work, Merri... and it's officially your birthday. IF only you had told me that work was out on your birthday, I COULD have left earlier.
Times have changed
Very much so... I am often dealing with things in the work place because of something that occurred further up in the line.So tell me John, do you wander around your house singing songs?
