So there is. I just had some fruit salad, it had lots of different fruits in it. The grape tasted the same as the pineapple and the peach and the guava (or whatever that bit of orange stuff was...) and the pear and the.... And now? now my gut hurts, I ate too much.
Is it polite? - no obviously it isn't. But since there is extreme exaggeration it can be seen for the humour that's intended. I wouldn't do it to a kid I've never met. I wouldn't do it to my daughter but she wouldn't be expecting it from me. Your daughter knows you well and probably expects that sort of "humour". Ask her if she (and her boyfriend) think it's funny or is she embarrassed? Use her response as your yardstick.
yes, congrats to "Little Blizz". Mine pretty much had their own cars ready to go by the time they got their licence. They've had the odd bingle here and there, but seem to be getting better by the time they are off their P's

By the way, I really thought you were onto something telling yourself (and anyone else in earshot) that you are awesome. It's a much used trick in the personal development and life coaching field that I tried many years ago. Trouble was I never believed it and just felt like a fraud.
