Damn skippy I'm judgmental. But "judgmental" means different things to diffrent people. I make what I hope to be sound judgments every single day of my life.
When you say "judge" other people, I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean "form an opinion" as to the content of their character and behavior, don't we all do that? I cannot imagine not being "judmental." How can we profess to believe in certain values and then turn around and say it's okay for someone else to do what we're totally against?
Is there a delineation between right and wrong anymore? There sure is for me. Now, I will agree that one person's assessment of right and wrong may not necessarily agree with mine but I think, by and large, we all know generally speaking what is "right" and what is "wrong."
Those who deviate from what is right are going to get "judged" (scrutinized, if you will) by me and by others as well. It's human nature.
The only thing I saw of British Columbia was the movie called "The Bear." It was filmed there. And it's breathtaking. Okay, that's it. BC is on my list of "places to see before I die."
Oh, believe me, she's not a camping person either. They're staying at that nice lodge up there. If it doesn't have room service and an outlet for an espresso machine, forget it, is what she'd say.
I personally would prefer a cabin with a big roaring fire and a fake bear skin rug and a huge jacuzzi out on the deck ...
Anyone on here from around there? My sister and her husband have vacationed all over the U.S. and in different parts of Canada and on October 1 they are going to Banff.
We were trying to figure out the correct pronunciation. What we came up with is Bamf. But we're not sure. I suggested she go to a place she can pronounce.
Canada is so beautiful. Sigh..maybe I can go one of these days.
I say this, after just having bought 10 boxes of variety pack fruit flavored oatmeal (with 10 packs each) from Kroger yesterday. Hey, they were on sale. 10 for $10. Now, I've got 100 packs of oatmeal. And I hate it. LOL.
I think that it is a good temporary way to provide assistance for people who need it. TEMPORARILY. I also think that it SUCKS that millions of dollars are being spent for welfare but they can't even increase the federal minimum wage to coincide with the current cost of living. And I'm also pissed at those a**hole who voted against it, but who managed to give themselves several raises in the process.
Ohh..sorry. Didn't realize you meant the "proper and correct" comment as a joke. My bad.
But just for the record, it's not like it's an effort to be "proper and correct," it's just how I am, it's how I write. There was a time when proper spelling and English grammar and so forth was considered important and I know that, in today's world, for some reason unfathomable to me, it makes a person seem like an oddball.
True that. I do go by Ms. However, my mother is still called Mrs. ______, and she's divorced. Many women do. But in this case it doesn't really matter because I was never married to Mr. Methuselah anyway.
I don't get the connection. Regardless of how intact their esteem is, they're still either right or they're wrong, are they not?
I wish someone would explain what the "need" to be right means. I mean, I can see that in certain situations where, for example, someone says "my way or the highway." That would be one example.
BUT I also tend to think that people who perceive others as having a "need" to be right may actually be unwilling to accept that they are wrong.
In other words, in many instances, there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. Or let's say there may be more than one "right" way to do it, but there is one specific way that is more "right" than others. It is the most logical choice, because you get the best results from making that choice.
A person who has the courage of her convictions, and one who has persevered throughout some very trying times.
I'm like one of those balloon clowns. Oh, sure, you might be able to punch me and knock me down, but I'll be the one to always bounce back up, and with a huge grin on my face, to boot.
This is interesting, because I've had people accuse me of always "thinking that I'm right." Which really amazes me because I'm wondering how it is they know what I'm thinking???!!
I don't think I'm always right. For one thing, so much of what is said is based on opinion. And EVERYONE thinks they're "right" with regard to their own OPINION; that's just human nature.
It wouldn't make sense to say (as a simple example) "I think chocolate ice cream is the best, but I could be wrong."
However, when I present something as "fact," you can be sure if it's not something I already know to be fact, I'm going to be prepared to present something to back me up.
I'm not sure I follow what "having the need" to be right is. Excluding gray areas (and speaking strictly in terms of black and white) a person is either "right" or they're "wrong." Right?
Integrity and an intimate bond that I think that two people who are in love and are committed to each other are supposed to have (at least theoretically).
my dog dahlia is the most loving, playful, loyal, intelligent dog on the planet. (and Kohlie is too!)
they're both very good with kids..but labs in particular are extremely smart.
They need to be around people. So they are really good with children. They love to run and play and especially CHEW.
They take to hot climates easily, as well as cold.
They have oil on their fur and webbed feet, too!
Dahlia is so smart she actually reasons things out. I never taught her how to do anything. She knows all of her toys, balls, bones, chewie things, by name and learned them the very first time I ever say it to her. If I say "go get your soccer ball," she'll do that. If I say, "get your tennis ball," she'll do that. Etc.
If I say, "Dahlia, where do the squirrels live?" she'll look up in the trees. If I say, "Where are the froggies?" she look in the tall grass.
She knows that ice cream is kept in the freezer and that cookies are in the cookie jar.
She will lay down on her bed and lay her head on the pillow and if she's cold, she'll pull the blanket up around her neck.
And she doesn't like being awakned to go outside before 7 a.m. so she'll fake being asleep if i try to get her up before then.
You can't go wrong with a Lab, IMO. They're great dogs.
My Kohlie (Kohl) is a sweetie pie, too, and I love him as much as I do her. He's a GR mix...and he's not as "smart" as she is..well, he's "dog smart.." but Dahlia is "people smart." She's really unique, though.
Just want you to know...
Shootyeah! I'll charter a flight for the whole group! 'course, we may have to walk back home...
