That's one thing I LOVED about being in Morenci. You could go 50 miles in any direction and the seasons would change. Hotter down toward the desert, cooler on the plateau and snow on the mountain. It was just beautiful.
When I lived in Los Angeles County, once in a very great while it got cold enough for the snow to remain on cars coming down from the mountains. We would scrape it off of cars and make snowballs and put them into the refrigerator so we could marvel at them from time to time. I mean, they were genuine snowballs!!! Really pissed off my dad, who kept yelling, "Shut that GD icebox door!!"
When anticipating moving to Nashville some 36 years ago, we were all excited about the prospect of a white Christmas. We made the move the summer of 1970 and talked for six months about how exciting it was giong to be to see our first snowfall.
Christmas Day finally came and, as luck would have it, it started snowing like crazy.
We got all bundled up, ran outside and starting shouting and giggling gleefully. Fifteen minutes and 20 frozen fingers and toes later, I said, "To hell with this; it's too damn cold," and went inside.
And have pretty much hibernated every winter, all winter, ever since.
Oh, yeah? Well, if you're not an ingestor of small woodland animals, then explain what it is you meant when you told me the other day you wanted to "gnaw on my beaver?"
The serrations on the carving knife were too far apart and ended up causing the knife to get stuck in the trunk. I found the steak knife, aside from feeling better in my hand, provided the right amount of torque and speed and friction to facilitate the proper cutting of the trunk.
'sides, had I used the carving knife, I'd have had to go buy much bigger butter.
Oh, man, this reminds me: I was on the Interstate today and noticed a guy behind me looked really strange..I kept glancing in my rearview mirror and trying to keep my eye on the semi in front of me in the process..and noticed the guy was wearing one of those "The Scream" masks...
I figured early Halloween party at first, and then my imagination kind ran away with me...omg, what if he just robbed a bank or something? He was weaving in and out of traffic and driving a lot faster than the rest of us...
Well, I don't like to give away trade secrets, but I like to trace my tongue along their spine, from their very lower back all the way up to the nape of their neck. It's fun watching him shiver and seeing the hair stand up on the back of his neck.
