I can only imagine what the text might have said, given that she said they "scared her." Or she could be just the type of woman who's afraid of her own shadow. Who knows?
But speaking as a woman who has been traumatized by men in the past, I can say that the worst thing a man can do is "joke" about stuff that could even be remotely construed as being serious. Like one guy I was talking to said he liked to hide in closets and jump out and scare people and thought that was oh, so, funny. Well, I told him there's no way in hell I'd live with a man like that, then he claims that he was "joking." Too bad, so sad. He lost whatever chance he might have had with me when he said that. I don't think scaring people is funny; I think it's creepy.
I guess the only thing you can do is apologize and promise to never EVER let it happen again. Trust is a very fragile thing and especially when dealing with people you meet on the Internet. One reason I haven't been out with but about 7 guys in over six years. It takes a lot for a man to convince me I can trust him.
Being married to a doctor of culture and economics says what about you? I don't get the connection.
Why should I research the Nigerian connection? It's of no concern to me. And as I said, this woman may or may not be "genuine," BUT the Russian dating scam is a well known scam. Believe it or not, makes no difference to me.
The MEN can't comprehend it? Ha! Here is one woman who couldn't FATHOM "changing sides," no matter how much grief I get from men.
For one thing, being as I'm not a lesbian, I'm not the least bit attracted to women...for another, ever see the dramatics that goes on in a lesbian relationship? OMG...you think hetero relationships are complicated?
Thanks just the same, but I'll happily stick with what I know...
The only sane answer? Ask yourself this question: No offense: this is a sincere question. Why do you think a beautiful, young, shapely Russian woman would want to be with you? Has she asked for money yet? I'd be willing to place bets if she hasn't, she will.
These Russian scammers are well known all over the Internet and have duped a lot of men out of money. Again, she may be as sincere as the day is long, but, I would exercise exreme caution if I were you.
BTW, what happened to the older woman in the other thread?
This was at an aquarium, not the ocean...they let children pet them. I cannot imagine their insurance company would let them do that without having removed the barbs first, but maybe they didn't.
I didn't say his death was the stingray's "fault," either, and neither was it his. He got too close. It was a freak occurrence, especially that it pierced his heart. I'll bet now wetsuits will be made with a metal breastplate or something.
It was a sad thing all the way around. True, he was a showman -- and perhaps a show off -- but he knew what he was doing. Had he been just careless, he'd have not lived as long as he did, IMO. He'd been in far more dangerous situations than that one, that's for sure.
How lay people all of a sudden become "expert scientists" when it comes to "proving" the Bible is a "fallacy" never ceases to amuse me.
Hey, believe what you want, but don't try to claim you KNOW the Bible and God and so forth is not real. I'm not a theologian, so I'm not going to get into a religious argument with anyone; besides, you can't "prove" God's existence, anyway, so there's no point. Believe what you will; I think there's plenty of evidence -- tangible and intangible -- to prove that God exists and that not everything taught in the Bible is a "fairy tale."
As I understand it, it is only if you accept (rather than deliberately reject) the gift of salvation. I am a Christian, but I do question whether or not someeone has to have the actual title of "Christian" in order to make be allowed access into Heaven. I cannot fathom a God Who would condemn babies and the mentally ill and those who have not heard of Him to Hell.
My personal belief (which goes against what mainstream Christianity teaches), is that all people will have a chance to accept or reject the Saviour, whether at some point in their lives as a matter of conscience, or even after their death before the final rapture, or as a gesture of grace on the part of God for those who do not know any better.
Because how fair can it be for someone who, for instance, was raised an atheist and never went to church or anything, never really knew the message, and, say, died in a car accident before he ever got the chance to really contemplate it? That doesn't seem to fall in place with the God I know, anyway.
Speak to an attorney; you do NOT want to handle this on your own. Believe me, I worked in insurance defense before and they pay their lawyers HUGE amounts of money to keep them from having to pay exorbitant insurance claims.
For one thing, in addition to compensatory damages, you might want to collect on pain and suffering and also punitive damages. You may also be entitled to a larger amount because you don't know at this point what, if any, further complications may or may not ensue.
Call a plaintiff's insurance attorney and discuss the matter with him or her. They do not charge for initial consultation.
All joking aside, a lot of obese people have associated heart and lung problems and that may be why they're using them. But society as a whole, especially American society, and the way they grow our food, has just led us to become a "fat" country.
