KFC aka: "The Dirty Bird" Oceans, have you ever sailed anywhere around South America? I have a friend that trailered his sailboat to Florida last summer from Edmonton is going around South America to Belize. I haven't heard from him since. Just curious as to what it's like.
Not sure if these fall into the cult film catagory. Clint Eastwood westerns, some of my favorites of all time. Seen most way too many times, but will watch them all again. The Dirty Harry ones were pretty good too.
If you're going moose hunting in Alaska I wwould suggest a good bolt action rifle with open or peep sights. No scope and not a semi-automatic. Although it's rare, semi-auto's can jam. Also, not knowing the regulations for Alaska you may only be able only have 3 rounds in the magazine. A scope isn't all that practical in low light conditions or dense bush. A .300 Win. magnum, .338 Win. magnum , .375 H&H magnum are all good choices. Buy a high quaility rifle like a Weatherbee, Parker Hale or Sako. All Mauser action, safe and dependable. There are others as well, check the internet. Look at the weight and overall length as well, you may be carrying it for quite a while and they do get heavy. The width of the strap, narrow for heavy clothing, wider for light clothing. Ammunition is another thing. All of the above calibers are capable of 250 grain bullets and I would suggest that. Also if you can get someone to load them for you that would be even better. Otherwise buy high grade or match grade ammo. There are a lot of choices and a little poking around at gun shops and on the net will get you started. Go to local rifle range and see if you can try out any. Then it's a matter of practice.
