You are only human, and to regret something means that you are humble and vulnerable. To never question it, I would have doubts about your sensitivity as a human being. We all make mistakes, or maybe it's called destiny.
I'm trying to think of an answer, and in doing so I realize, how unique and complex we all are. If I choose one character over another I realize that it is only touching the surface or one aspect of who I am, which wouldn't give a very complete picture.
If she isn't interested? A mutual curiosity and attraction is better. Why should you have to convince her of anything? She ought to recognize and appreciate your virtues.
