Your friend underestimated his dissatisfaction in their relationship. She should have tried talking to him about that as opposed to taking it slightly. JMO
One observation I have made over the years about couples who are together for a very long time is that they almost look like they are related. They have similar physical traits.
Our existence has become very artificial in many ways; I question it often, as I've had a chance to live more humbly in an environment where I was surrounded by nature, in good company, stress free, and I would choose it any time over all this.
