To be content you must be happy. To be happy you must know that it is real and there to stay; and just to simplify all this I feel that love, affection, companionship, and progress in healthy doses is what it's about.
Being content is safer than being happy, it's feeling less or controlling a more powerful emotion which I have to agree is volatile just as any other powerful emtion.
Happiness is a complex subject to discuss but I like the idea of trying; I feel that it has to do more with what we need than what we want. When we have that we are happy, and it is a process rather than and end. Every day we make an effort to be happy and to make others happy.
Flowers on a first date are a matter of protocol, and as such have little meaning. That question was fairly easy. The second, in all honesty, takes time and dating to know for sure.
